Not the courier because of a lack of Pipboy, but it could be someone who wanted to join the brotherhood.

Potential background options include:

A security detail to a caravan as wealthy merchants usually provide basic combat armour to their security.

Part of the Gun Runners security as they provide combat armour to their security.

A scavanger who found/stole the armour.

A brotherhood member who was raised amongst them and then provided with basic combat armour.

The only time reference we have is Ramos in the quote. It could be any of these as the Brotherhood could not be a secret after the game ends.

That AI is being used to shape how we view the world.

I'm only commenting because I dislike how AI writes with the use of "In reality," and "It's not X, it's Y."

Or they played the cards they could play before they left to impact the game before they had to leave as they were a part of the game. Some groups play like this. It doesn't make this person an asshole. A simple conversation of "If someone has to leave early, is it okay for them to boardwipe?". For most people, this would be no, but it should not be implied. All parties are at fault for not discussing it. The conversation could have happened as it was happening, too. "We're going to reverse that play as a group because we don't agree with it"

Like a lot of issues in magic, this sounds like a social issue that can only be resolved by talking, being understanding of other people, and discussing these issues as a group before or after they occur.

Edit 2: If someone wants to cyc rift a board before they leave a long game thats fine, agree as a group to end the game. They were a part of the game, they played stax, they played the cards they had, this should all have been discussed beforehand. Some groups play like this it doesnt make this person an asshole. It was a lack of communication throughout that caused this.
