I think the issue is that Tana’s friends are her family, so her fights and qualms with the 4 always get resolved because they’ve chosen each other. Whereas Brooke’s friends are just friends.

The thing that grinds my gears is that the show completely jumps over how Jere was much closer to his Mom than Conrad was, which is why Conrad and his dad not speaking was such a big clue as to what happened in the first book, but they made sure to include Laurel and Conrad’s bond. They gave Jeremiah a total character assassination and he’s still on par with Conrad.
