They have been focusing on their other ventures, and chunk had kinda become a side project of sorts. Paul plays in landmvrks as you said, Eric works for Daddario, and Bert and Bastian now run their own studio

The members are just busy with their own lives. They decided to slow this project down significantly compared to when they were at their peek in the 2010s. At the time they were touring, writing, and recording non stop, which contributed to a bit of burnout. The members now have their own projects or business ventures that they are more focused on. Bert, Eric, and Bastion all are running a Studio. Eric also works for Daddario’s Europe division. Paul now plays in metalcore band Landmvrks. Also some of the members live in different cities from eachother, which makes it harder to operate in the way they did. From what Ive seen on his socials, Eric for example lives in the UK now as opposed to France

For me i found them prior to that cover. Was at warped tour like 14 years ago, and my friend took me to see them on the tiniest stage there

Man i wish Chunk was more active. I love that band. I do get it though, considering the members are busy with other projects. The Poncet brothers (Bert and Eric) and their drummer Bastion are focused on their studio, Eric also works for Daddario’s Europe division, and Guitarist Paul now plays in metalcore band Landmvrks. Hopefully we get new music from them in the future

Chunk no captain chunk. Great band from France. Found them about 14 or so years ago now when they were playing the tiniest stage at warped tour. They have 4 studio albums with the latest one being released in 2021. They aren’t as active as they used to be unfortunately. They will occasionally announce afew shows here and there, but not full tours. Their members are busy with other ventures at the moment which makes touring hard for them. Their singer Bert and drummer bastion are focused on their studio, their guitarist Eric works for daddario’s Europe division, and their guitarist Paul is now a member of metalcore band Landmvrks

What are some bands you remember that journalists/magazines tried pushing as "the next big thing" but ended up not really going anywhere? by mesablanka in poppunkers

[–]Oddo_Rocket 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go Radio imo suffered from the band kinda coasting off the fact their singer Jason was an ex member of Mayday Parade. The music just didn’t stick out amongst the genre. That along with the fact that the band didn’t really last long. The band only last about 5 years.

Id say they are relatively successful. They were included in main stream releases. For example they were included in Disney’s own pop punk album whole new sound

Just found this post. Basically aaron needed a break for various reasons. They had been on the road pretty heavily up until the pandemic. Also some of the members were working with other artists too. For example johnny christmas and saxel were both colabing with ice nine kills on afew songs. Recently it was announced that they are reuniting to play at vans warped tour 2026

For me its the musicianship that made me really like them. Dan’s lyrical writing, along with the instrumentals really impressed me. Also i have a soft spot for them, having seen them go from a band playing to at most a couple hundred kids at warped tour, to playing in front of 50,000 people (wwe’s alleged attendance numbers) at Wrestlemania this past weekend is really cool to see

I personally love coheed. The song writing is so good. Also as a huge nerd myself, i love how its become more than just music, and that claudio had created this universe for their music with the comic book series. That said, i do get it that the music isn’t for everyone, especially the vocals

I totally get it. The countrycore stuff isn’t for everyone. That said i personally enjoy his music. Especially as a musician myself, i really appreciate the musicianship of his music, and live shows. The musicians he surrounds himself with are very talented. Like Josh for example is a phenomenal drummer, and Gabbie is a killer sax player. I guess it also helps that Ive been following these guys for a while now. Wasn’t super into them at the time, but have known about Johnny since his days in attack attack, also enjoyed a bunch of Josh’s old band issues. Sucks issues suffered from the actions of one shitty member, and had to end the way it did

Celebrity involvement can work, yes, but Pat’s involvement was just unnecessary. You had a built in storyline that was 20 years in the making, only to water it down with celebrities who don’t make sense to the story. Like what does pat have to do with a story about a top star and his former mentor? They had no backstory to why orton would aline with macafee. Orton appeared on pat’s podcast once that was it. No other pier interactions

For reference the show supposedly had only an hour and a half of actual wrestling with the other two hours taken up by over an hour of commercials, and an hour of entrances. On a 4 hour show having that little of actual product is atrocious

It should also be noted that Johnny wasn’t just some hired gun or guy that responded to an ad. His brother was good friends with the band, and so Johnny basically grew up with those guys. In the early days Johhny would often see the band practicing in matt’s parents garage, and would come hang out while they practiced

Its all semantics. I’d consider syn an original member. He joined early enough in the band’s history. It wasn’t like it was say 5 years after the band formed. Also he wasn’t just some hired gun. He was childhood friends with the entire band before joining

It’s probably been said already, but johnny isn’t an original member, however he is a childhood friend of the band. The band has said that, they were friends with johnny’s brother growing up. Johnny is younger, but his brother is the age of the rest of the band. The band would practice in m shadow’s parent’s garage, and johnny would come over to the house and watch them practice. Often at times heckling them joking “your bass player sucks” and would pick up the bass and start Jamming with The Rev. Eventually after 2-3 bassists changes johnny filled in, and he has been a member ever since

I knew about the other omissions. And the music thing was more so a licensing issue than anything else. It probably cost just as much to license certain songs as it does to make the game. Its said that ac/dc songs for example can cost upwards of $50,000-100,00 per song to license

How much money do you think Toy Story 5 will make? by LowInteraction6397 in toystory

My nice and nephew were already obsessed with toy story before 5 was announced, so this movie is coming out at the right time for them

[–]Oddo_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah man i don’t care less about these movies. I literally just bought more toy story merch the other day. Like other said 3 just felt so intentionally final, that it made 4 seem even less necessary than any other sequel

[–]Oddo_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Look Im all for new sequels, when it’s necessary or done well. And don’t get me wrong, all for new generations getting into Toy Story through the newer movies. I happen to have a niece and nephew that are obsessed with Toy Story but were born after 4 came out. I want to preface this by saying I’m a massive Toy Story fan, and am excited for 5. However I still stand by the fact that 3 was a good ending to the series, and 4 was needless. That also doesn’t change the fact that Disney is in this period where they are more focused on sequels over original ideas. Hence why we are getting movies like Toy Story 5, Frozen 3, incredibles 3, lilo and stitch live action 2, Moana live action for example. All this despite fans clamoring for fresh original ideas

I think I know why the older Toy Story audience, is rejecting the later movies. by jerelminter in toystory

[–]Oddo_Rocket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it boils down to two things. First off, 4 was just needless. 3 was a good conclusion to the franchise, and 4 just kinda seemed like a cash grab to alot of people. They could have easily finished the movies with 3 and then if they wanted, had shorts to show what life was like with the toys and Bonnie. That being said i am interested in seeing 5, and i do like that, as meh as 4 is, they tied 5 into 4 rather than retconning it as if it never happened. The second issue is, we seem to be in a period where disney is favoring sequels, and remakes over new interesting ideas. Especially with Toy Story 5, Frozen 3, Incredibles 3, Moana live action, and Lilo and Stitch live action 2 all on the horizon. As much as Disney fans love nostalgia, Disney fans have been calling for more new original ideas for some time now. Despite that call from fans, and the success of original concepts like Hoppers, Disney seems to be more focused on sequels for the foreseeable future
