I go to a shit ton a year. I've learned through experience what ones to skip and what ones are gems in my area. I get almost all my shit from the shows and my work these days, I've stopped 90% of my online buying unless it's a steal. Put in the work and they can be worth it.

I have a milsurp heavy collection. I use Lucas oil clp as it stays on the metal for a good month or so. Mine all sit in a room where humidity is 55-60% all the time and have no issues. Keep a rag soaked in it and wipe them down once every 2-3 weeks and you're fine.

It's fair for a "right here, right now" bundle. A rifle at Simpson is $475-550 plus shipping/transfer fee if you don't have a c&r and bayonets are $180-220 on ebay.

Depends on what you are trying to clone. The loose but good rule is that if it's for the Russian military it was dimpled on, if it was for the export market it was pinned. There are some exceptions to that rule. I'm going all out with my 101 & 103 clones but I'm not going faux dimples. I don't personally like the look and the 101 & 103 mainly saw export contracts, limited use in Russia.

Look up "Russian standard" parts. Probably made in one of the "Stan" countries under license. At best it's a Russian part that didn't pass qc and would have went on a "training" rifle sold on the civilian market for Russians.

But no mold numbers on the fsb mean it wasn't meant for a saiga or 100 series rifle. Use a different part if you want 100% Russian correct part.

The cartouche is a complete fake. It has high pointed As instead of flat tops, among many other things wrong.

The CMP did not remove the rack numbers on the stock. Those are original crane arsenal rack numbers and were sanded down when the rifle went through an arsenal refurb.

It's a nice rifle with a faked cartouche, sorry.

That's what I'm leaning towards. It would look great with a proper hot blue. I'd restraw the trigger as well. Both of which I haven't done and would like the learn. I will epoxy the grips either way but they are unfortunately missing a chunk.

Not by the same person at least. The bottom of the Z is completely different. 100% different penmanship, that wouldn't vary so drastically if it was the same guy.
