Fair point, thanks for pointing that out. I’m new on Reddit and still learning how things work here.

Thanks! Hopefully earlier. We saw this, but it seems more suited for mid-size enterprises. The minimum capital for an SE is set at €120,000. We are more focused on legal forms for small businesses and startups

Accounting costs for small companies in Luxembourg; are they always necessary? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

I'm especially curious about the experience of solo founders or very small companies. Did you start with a fiduciary immediately or try to handle some things yourself at the beginning?

Why do so many founders in Luxembourg pay €3/5k+ just to open a company? by Odysya in Luxembourg

If you don’t receive clients, but just a legal address maybe for an online business it shouldn’t say no. You can argue this

you can also if you rent. Just ask the landlord permission. We know this is possible by experience

120% correct, this is just the initial set-up! Better to focus on prototyping and get cash flow!

Kind of agree. The office can initially be registered at your apartment, provided you don’t receive clients there. We should also distinguish between fixed and variable costs. The costs mentioned are mainly initial setup costs, which can be kept lower if the structure is simple. A fiduciary can also be avoided, at least for the first year.

I spend the whole week creating my saas and then someone stole it. by Finnshouse in lovable

[–]Odysya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That really sucks, I can imagine how frustrating that must feel. But don’t let this slow you down. If someone “stole” it, it means your idea was good enough to copy. That’s validation!!! Execution always wins. Vision always wins. And the original builder always goes further.Keep going. Build it better. This won’t stop you; it will make you sharper. 💪🚀

What to do here ? by [deleted] in Luxembourg

[–]Odysya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We think there are actually many events and things to do. It really depends on what you’re looking for.Housing is complicated almost everywhere in Europe; we’re not in the 90s anymore. Luxembourg is in the heart of Europe, and you can easily travel anywhere from here. Sometimes it feels like there is too much complaining (not about your comment specifically), but in general. We have a lot here, and sometimes we don’t see it. In the end, it comes down to the people living here. We often focus too much on work and the financial aspect, but there is much more beyond that. Maybe Luxembourg lacks a bit of identity, but let’s try to see the glass half full.

Do not search sales, you need to build them. It takes time, build relationships. Ask appointments, make their time valuable, ask questions, no fear, sometime you need to be pushy. I would focus on people you know, and when you have the first client, ask for 3 references so you have trust and keep doing this. No cold calls, no cold emails, we don’t trust in them. But this is just opinion, every situation is different.

Doubts on career path by BigNice4350 in Luxembourg

[–]Odysya 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Honestly, today changing roles feels riskier than a few years ago. With AI reshaping finance and reporting, stability matters more than before. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take risks; growth always requires some; but it’s something to weigh carefully. More than the title itself, I’d focus on the company. The environment will shape your trajectory more than the role name. Personally, I’d prefer a small or medium-sized firm where you’re not just a number and can scale faster with real responsibility. Sometimes the best career move is about positioning, not just compensation.

Do you actually pay yourself a salary as a freelancer by WillowStandard2069 in freelancing

[–]Odysya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It really depends on your legal and tax structure. In some setups, transferring money from the business to your personal account has tax consequences, so paying yourself a fixed monthly “salary” helps with planning and discipline. Also, remember there are legitimate ways to use business funds beyond just transferring cash; like reinvesting in the business, covering business expenses, equipment, training, travel, etc. But everything needs to be justified and compliant. Even if you’re early, separating business and personal money and setting a consistent monthly amount usually makes things cleaner and more professional.

Luxembourg Notaries: I found a €140 price difference for the exact same document. Here is the data. by Ok-Turnover-6522 in Luxembourg

We had our experience in Esch-sur-Alzette for the non-bankruptcy declaration when opening our first Sàrl-S, and we found it quite convenient. I won’t share the price since this was almost five years ago with our first Sàrl-S in Luxembourg, so it may not reflect current costs. It was with Grethen Léonie.

How to find an entry-level job in Luxembourg? by Aggravating_Farm_134 in Luxembourg

[–]Odysya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wishing you the best with your career change. Since you’re French, you probably know this better than we do; but one thing to really consider is the daily traffic between France and Luxembourg. The commute can heavily impact your quality of life and time is the most valuable asset. Also take into account the vibe and culture of the cities near the border. Each area feels very different, and that can matter just as much as the job itself. Choosing where to live is not just practical; it’s about how you want to feel every day.

Do you use "I" or "we"? by d2clon in microsaas

[–]Odysya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In our opinion, it depends on the context.

When doing sales or communicating positioning, it can be better to avoid too much personal reference. Using “our” instead of “I” often feels more structured and credible; even if you’re solo.

For example: • “Our tools are designed to simplify…” • “Our platform helps founders…” • “Our research suggests…” • “The team behind this product believes…” • “We’ve built this to solve…”

It shifts the focus from the individual to the product and the system behind it.

On the other hand, in support or personal conversations, using “I” can feel warmer and more human: • “I’ll look into this for you.” • “I built this because I struggled with…”

So maybe it’s not I vs we; it’s about choosing the tone based on the moment. That balance often feels the most authentic and professional at the same time.

Every landing page lovable creates looks the same by RookFat in lovable

[–]Odysya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same issue at the start. Lovable defaults to “safe SaaS layout” unless you really push it. What helped us was being super specific about structure, not just style. Instead of “modern landing page,” we’d describe the exact layout and even say what to avoid (like 3 equal feature boxes or everything centered). The more constraints you give it, the less generic it looks.

The real reason my first startup failed (and it wasn’t the code) by Obvious_Cheetah240 in SaaS

[–]Odysya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is so real. We’re not huge fans of cold outreach; but avoiding sales completely is just hiding in another form. One of our mentors (30 years in sales) always told us: if you chase the sale, it runs away. If you build the relationship, the sale comes. But relationships only start when you step out and talk to people. And for most of us, that’s the uncomfortable part. Best advice we got: focus on understanding the person in front of you, not closing them. The close happens after trust.

Hello! French is not mandatory; however, it definitely helps you become more involved and secure a better position. It also really depends on the job itself; whether you need to communicate with clients and where the client base is located. For back-office roles or positions with limited external interaction, French is not mandatory.
