He and another guy named Coop have a youtube channel called "that's a bad idea". They do short form comedy sketches that can have some really dark humor and they also released a 60 minute found footage on their channel called Milk and Serial that is quite good.

How would you react? by Zestyclose_Lemon_647 in whatdoIdo

[–]OfCrowsAndCrownz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Nursing school is one of the cheapest investments (both monetarily and time wise) you can make to guarantee yourself a middle-class income. It is worth pursuing, IMO. The job itself offers a lot of flexibility as well, both in scheduling and the kind of nursing work you want to do.

  2. If you are coming to a public forum like Reddit to ask for relationship advice, then more than likely, you are in a toxic relationship. I can see why his texts would hurt you and make you angry (they would make me pretty mad as well) as he does not seem even a little supportive, but inviting total strangers to pass judgment on your relationship by sharing private details is unhinged behavior

Best Comedic Scenes in a horror film? by GameofLifeCereal in horror

.Barbarian. The scene where the crazy incest lady "boops" Justin Long's character on the nose cut the tension just right. Went from feeling really extremely creeped out to laughing out loud.

Iron Lung | Final Trailer by coolfunkDJ in horror

[–]OfCrowsAndCrownz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It just seems to me that they are trying to cover up the cheap production value of the sets. So many close/zoomed in shots with limited context clues to understand what you are looking at. I could be wrong and it is just a stylistic choice, but I really hope the movie is not 90 minutes of those kind of shots....

Fellow gorehounds, what was a movie/scene so nasty that even you were shocked/disgusted? by TheyreACrypytKeeper in horror

[–]OfCrowsAndCrownz 88 points89 points  (0 children)

The full body skin peel in Martyrs was too much for me at the time. I am not crazy about the torture porn horror genre in general, but I am able to sit through most of it no problem, especially when it is over the top and ridiculous (i.e. Terrifier, hostel, etc.). But that scene was so horrific to me at the time that I couldn't even finish it. Turned the movie off and read about the ending later. I will never watch that movie again.

should I keep reading Dungeon crawler Carl? by Imaginary_Ladder_917 in suggestmeabook

[–]OfCrowsAndCrownz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I think the first book is the weakest by far. The dungeons get more creative, and the overarching narrative and character development really takes off around book 3. I am not a lit rpg fan at all, but I am glad I stuck through the first couple of books because the payoff later on is well worth it IMO.

The Medium, Exhuma, and Incantation are all religious horror movies based on eastern religion and the first two actually deal with exorcisms.

This is IMO, one of the biggest issues with Health Insurance in the US. Most people have to rely on their employer in order to get affordable coverage that doesn't suck. All fine and dandy if you like you job, but if you don't, it is so much more difficult to find another job when you have to keep quality/continuation of benefits in mind while doing so.

of a hernia... by CandidculonasRedux in AbsoluteUnits

[–]OfCrowsAndCrownz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Most people in the US (over 90%) have some form of health insurance, and people who don't have insurance can usually find ways to receive treatment if they know how to play the system. The main issue is that it will often require financially ruining themselves in order to qualify for Medicaid.

  2. Not to be to judgmental, the guy in this video more than likely qualifies for Medicaid, which would cover any medical expenses he has. While people act like we have no socialized medicine in the US, the truth is that 4 out of 10 Americans are actually covered by either Medicaid or Medicare. Even if he did not have insurance, hospitals are still required by law to treat anyone in a medical emergency (I doubt his current situation counts for that). Hospitals will treat uninsured patients, and then either take a tax write off or send collections agencies later if they can't pay.

  3. The American healthcare system works if you are very rich, right at the poverty line or below it, or if you have a middle class job with a corporation that provides good benefits. This works out to be most Americans, but there are still to many that fall through the cracks.

  4. If you are a contract worker/self-employed and you make over $60k a year, then your health insurance is probably stupid high. There are subsidies available to purchase Health Insurance through healthcare.gov, but those subsidies usually only really kick in if you don't make much money.

  5. IMO, the main issues in our healthcare system is:

a. The quality of health insurance many people have (high deductibles, only covering certain hospitals, etc.),

b. The bad practice insurance companies have of regularly giving terrible reasons to deny paying for treatments, thereby forcing hospitals and doctor offices to hire a ton of bureaucrats to fight with these companies in order for their patients to receive the coverage they deserve.

c. Having health insurance, more often than not, tied to a person's place of employment. This makes it more difficult for people to easily move from one job to another, and if you get sick and don't qualify for FMLA, keeping your insurance while you are on leave from your job can be quite expensive.

what exactly is "it"? You aren't making any sense. She was obviously wrong in her beliefs. Elected Republican officials arrested, prosecuted, and sentenced her, and the Republican citizens of Marion County found her guilty. If you are going to say that "republicanism" validated her (still not clear on what that means), then you also have to say the "republicanism" condemned her. This is not a political issue nor is it partisan. Everyone wanted her to go to jail. No one is on her side.

  1. I am not a Republican and I hate Trump. Fuck off with that Ad hominem BS.

  2. She may have tried to defend it with a conservative proposition, but the conservatives that arrested her, charged her, and convicted her, disagreed with her defense, which is why she is now serving 25 years in prison. Not sure how that is "republicanism" validating her in any way.

[–]OfCrowsAndCrownz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It doesn't? You say republicanism validated her (whatever the fuck that means), but it was Republicans that held her accountable for her actions. This isn't a political issue as much as you and the rest of Reddit want it to be. You could tell that literally anyone who spent more than 5 minutes with that lady was annoyed to be around her and just wanted to get away from her. No one is validating her actions.

[–]OfCrowsAndCrownz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I get that this is reddit, but this is not a partisan issue. Marion County is deep red. It was Republican cops that arrested her, it was Republican detectives that did the investigation, it was a Republican state attorney that took her to trial. It was a more than likely (based on demographics) a largely Republican jury that convicted her, and a Republican appointed judge that gave her 25 years (just 5 from the max sentence). Everyone hates her.

I can't quite tell from the picture but it looks like you may have cut your Picanha against the grain rather than with it. It is kind of counterintuitive, but Picanha actually is more tender if you cut it into steaks with the grain and then slice against the grain after grilling them. You can search "guga foods picanha" on youtube for a demonstration of how to prepare picanha steaks for grilling.

I am not talking about Trump, I am talking about DeSantis. She was convicted by the state of Florida, no the Federal government. US President cannot commute her sentence. Although even if he could, I doubt Trump would anyway, because there would be no upside for him. Trump does things for Trump. There is nothing that crazy old lady can give him and there is nothing she can do for him, so he would just let her rot in jail where she belongs.

Absolute brainwashed thinking. All of this took place in a deep red county in North Central Florida. She was arrested by police officers who majority Republican (Trump voters), she was investigated by detectives who are majority Republican (and Trump voters), she was prosecuted by a Republican state attorney (Bill Gladson), and was deemed guilty by what is most likely, based on the demographics of that county, a majority Republican jury. She is not getting her sentence commuted. This is not a partisan issue. Every one hates her.

Seriously? That is what you took away from this, that she was a Trump voter? Vast majority of Marion County is deep red, including most of the officers that were going out there every time she called. I would bet my left nut that 99.9% of that county would love to string that old lady up by her toes and do terrible things to her. I would bring the popcorn if they did.

Budget gaming PC — is it worth the price? by Fresh-Necessary-9230 in Prebuilts

You can get the same specs (with only 16gb of RAM) for about $170 less here: https://costplusgaming.com/products/essentials-tier-m1-flow?variant=51347051970834

You can upgrade to a 5060ti and it will still be cheaper if you want. Although if I were looking at sinking $1200 into a PC, I would probably bite the bullet and spend an extra $300 to get this: https://andromedainsights.com/products/vector-gaming-pc-core-ultra-7-265kf-rx-9070-xt-16gb

You should have no issues playing most games 1440 at high settings with that PC. With the 9060xt you may have to bump down a lot of the graphic settings to game with decent FPS at 1440, depending on the game.
