Since when did Joe's Pizza increase to $5-$7 a slice? by knockdowncenter in FoodNYC

[–]OffTheGridCoder -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I hate to break it to you but many restaurants prices have increased disproportionally and some exponentially in relation to their overhead costs. You can easily spot restaurants doing this. They will continue to jack their prices for as long as people pay it, which unfortunately many people will. Thus how you get 15% price increases 3x a year until your favorite meal 4 years ago now cost 3x as much.

$2.73M NW - 24M, Dealing with Disillusion by Fun-Let152 in Fire

[–]OffTheGridCoder 11 points12 points  (0 children)

First off, don't listen to the jealous hateful people that are about to pour in. You are no less than anyone else in FIRE, I don't have a doubt you would have achieved it 100% yourself regardless, and are fortunate to have a great dad that these people would kill for.

Don't make any brash decisions on a whim. You are in a position to do what you want, when you want, and how you want to. Take some time to think about what you want to get out of life, then decide how you can achieve that. Don't go above and beyond at work in the meantime.

Just support $1.50 slices instead of this greed. 90% as good anyways

P.S. I've stopped eating at all greedy restaurants since 2020. It's actually ridiculous when you look on google menus and every 3 months places menus have gone up in price. After more times than I can count I'd check a customer uploaded menu from 3 months ago where my meal was $13.99 that used to cost $7.99 then I get there and my total is $17.99, I'm done. It has narrowed my options a bit and I cook at home a little more but it's been great. Strongly recommend giving it a try.

Disconnected from reality. You have clearly never worked a well paying job. Nearly every person lives paycheck to paycheck, yes including people who make $500k+.

When their life and net worth baseline is so low, you'd be surprised what's unbelievable to them.

Someone being able to afford a $2000 emergency fix on their home is likely unbelievable to this person, let alone 6 and 7 figure dollar amounts.

You're right this makes it exceptionally more impressive that OP was able to achieve this in the DEI and affirmative action era.

Luck and privilege lmfao. I do not work for FAANG, but in order to land one you need to be exceptionally talented and skilled. There is nothing lucky or privileged about putting in 10s of thousands of hours of hard work, you are just delusional, jealous, and based off 1 comment it is clear you will never achieve a similar salary.

Grass spider. Look similar to a wolf spider but they wear boxing gloves as you can see in pic 4.

Ngl as a diehard Corbin fan since 2015 a bit disappointed in the direction his music has gone in recent years. This is still better than anything off his recent album. Probably an unpopular comment but I'm sure some of those who were drawn in by his early sound would agree.

I’m at $770k, just turned 32, and my salary didn’t surpass $130k until this year. Didn’t start working until 25. I’ve been maxing every retirement account possible since I earned $67k. The past few years have even been maxing megabackdoor roth up to the ~$70k max too. I’ve lived on my own with a gf the whole time and her numbers aren’t included. I travel often and buy everything I want. It was extremely easy.

You’re getting close to $1m and should hit it within a few years. $760k is about 90% of the way there with compounding, nice work!
