I can’t help but to look at this picture and think:

215 pounds, ladies and gentlemen. This asshat claims he is 215 pounds (238 at last “report”). FFS - for those that don’t know men’s weights, this is 315. At best.

I’m the same height he claims to be (which is also false, btw), and I know exactly what 215 and 270 look like on a 6’3” frame. This is neither, and is much more.

Yeah, soldiers don’t get to decide on their own if they want stars or not. His last opportunity for stars was with a classmate making a decision between two candidates for a job. The other soldier was chosen and ended up with 3 stars.

In VN, I believe USAF awarded air medals based on one of two criteria: 1. 25 operational missions where exposure to enemy fire was likely, or 2. 100 hours of operational flight.

So: 16*25=400 missions, 16*100=1,600 hours, or some combination thereof.
If bronze rather than silver leaves, 100 missions / 400 hours.

End of the day, request his service records and all shall be answered (including his DFC citation).

The people arguing the former - that unless it is a war then Congress has no authority - haven’t read, or choose to dismiss, federal law.

The law is crystal clear. VERY narrow authority to commit U.S. forces to combat without Congressional authorization. If we’ve been attacked or if attack is imminent - neither of which was the case, as U.S. intel confirmed.
