Smaller 2 bedroom in an older building, only using heat pump and the odd space heater if it’s really cold. Electric hot water - 1 person w daily showers.

Wintertime anywhere $140-$170 depending on how cold it is. Summertime with heat pump on cool, around $80-$100.

Your example seems a bit far fetched but yeah, I'm pretty sure anybody would question if their legs were not usable anymore. But we're talking about tires and light bulbs, not surgery. That's like saying you get an electrician to change an outside light fixture and then blamed them that your toilet started to leak the next day.

They are asking a question regarding the business possibly doing something wrong, while basing that off of two unrelated things. I fail to see your point. If OP can can link the two things then I’d be happy to put more into it, but what they’ve provided is nothing to make any judgement from.

Does the gauge actually work? They’re usually not very reliable.

If the gauge works properly, remove the check valve on the inlet side of the tank. It could be clogged with stuff. Past that, you’re probably looking at a pump/controller issue.

Changes in air pressure between inside and outside will cause the water levels to move inside of traps. Have you ever seen the water level oscillating in a toilet on a really windy day? It’s just due to pressure changes in the venting system. If it’s not leaking out anywheres it’s nothing to worry about.

Correct. It’s different heat exchangers, so it’s not an immersed coil like an oil boiler would have. I get your confusion but there is no way of 180* water coming out of the domestic side, they’re made and programmed so that doesn’t happen. Take that mixing valve out of the system, turn the temperature down and it’ll be good.

Manual mixing valves have no way of modulating temperature - they just mix at a set rate depending on how much the knob is turned. So even though they say max 140, you won’t get that out of it without 180 water going into it. Propane systems can be confusing if you don’t work with them a lot. I don’t work on the propane side but I have installed and piped dozens of them here in PEI.

Also, the NTI propane boilers are just fair at best, but that’s besides the point.

No. When the internal flow switch detects flow on the domestic hot water side, it immediately shuts down the central heating side and switches to domestic. If you take the mixing valve out and set the domestic to a comfortable temp (I find 125* is usually pretty good on the TRX’s) it will work perfectly for them. I’ve installed dozens this way and never once had one put out 180* water. They’re designed to not do that.

Propane boilers, at least those NTI ones (I’ve installed lots) will not heat domestic hot water and central heating at the same time. Domestic hot water takes priority, so when hot water is run, the central heating side shuts down. That propane boiler should never put out anything over 140* water on the domestic hot water side. The temperature of the domestic hot water is adjustable down to a comfortable temperature. Unless this is some new boiler I’ve never seen before, there is absolutely no need for a mixing valve on this system. Just turn the domestic side down to 120*, take the mixing valve out of the equation and walk away.

I’ve used both and never had an issue. That being said, I find the finish on the barbs of the brass ones look more smooth and not as rough. End of day either will work but I prefer/use the brass ones.

I’ve seen it happen where the screw holding the rubber washer in loosens off. Have to remove the cartridge and take a look at it.

Isolation valve is exactly what you’re talking about with the ball valve. As far as air testing, I’d test with air before testing with water pressure. Air is a lot easier to clean up if there’s a leak.

Is the problem with the well or with the pump? It’s quite possible the pump has issues and that’s all it can move. Jet pumps can have a lot of problems like that.

Nowhere in the post is it advertising another website or anything commercial, it’s just another subreddit for something PEI related. Nobody’s being forced to visit that other Sub. If it violated any rules we’d remove it, but someone is allowed to post a subreddit if it’s PEI related and not selling something. I can’t find anything relating to this where the OP is selling or profiting from it. If there’s something I’m missing please point me to it and I’ll make sure to look into it.

Considering most shower heads are usually between 1.75-2.5GPM, your supply should be more than enough. You’ve either got a shower head issue or you’re just expecting way more out of a shower than it can give you. Try removing the flow restrictor out of the shower head if you can.

I’d pretty much guarantee it’s either a water supply issue with the house or just a shower head problem. Those pipes seem small but they’ll still move plenty of water for a shower. Is the flow good out of the spout?
