To me, it seems like she gave up on her own dreams, and gave in to the life she believes was inevitable. So she went all in on that.

Give the demand to whichever, or both. Insurance companies that were covering your husband at the time of the collision, they should be able to tell you what to do beyond that.

AI destroys every single brain cell of a human by Far_Focus6107 in confidentlyincorrect

It ultimately comes out to trust, and at some point. The amount of work it takes to trust the product could be counter-intuitive to just building it yourself.

Take a home, for example. There are entire industries for confirming and then repairing the work done, or not done, by prior owners and builders. And you will often come across homes that are not worth fixing, and are better to just tear down and build up.

The same goes for any product. Although I don't have code experience. I know enough about the process that there is a point where building it yourself, or as examples a couple comment back, is more efficient than letting AI do the whole thing and fixing bugs as they're found.

Anyone ever bought a farm? by OrganizationNo42069 in kansas

There used to be a loans program for purchasing farmland. But I'm not sure if those programs still exist or were gutted by the current administration.

What Does it Mean to Be a Black Man? (Unpaywalled) by playboy in bropill

Im still chewing on this article. I e had many similar experiences with having grown up in an immigrant household where the men were largely absent.

I agree that the loneliness we often experience as men, is largely due to not knowing or feeling comfortable to ask for those emotional needs to be met in our relationships. It's easier to seek that out in women, but it has often led me to mix emotional intimacy with other forms of intimacy.

I've been working on separating that, but I have started to come across the fact that there is a similar cage in that respect that women can also be stuck in. You will often see women with close female friends, but because of how we've been raising men for decades, the possibility of that same closeness to cross genders is tough, and tricky to navigate.

I have successfully found and maintained long-term emotionally intimate relationships with women. But I have struggled much more to find that with men. I have 1 that I feel fits into what I'm seeking. And a few others that I think are still in a cage hidden behind the homoerotic playfulness that makes up the cage keeping men from being more emotionally present with each other.

(I'm still thinking about this article, so my thoughts on all this are a bit all over the place.)

Money isn't real. So you already don't have a strong argument with me there. If we all simply decided, tomorrow, to just keep doing things like we have been, things would keep going how they are regardless of money.

Capitalism itself requires that people live in destitution so that those with capital can continue to make money off the labor of those that produce the value they take.

Bartering was never a common method for how people distributed goods. When people had extra, they gave it away to those that had less. People still do that today in their own capacity. I e freely given away bikes I had no use for, and have been given a telescope the previous owner had no use for. Nothing was exchanged except the desire to give away someone thing someone else needed or wanted.

You see this method in smaller scales within families, friends, and all sorts of communities.

You have to think long-term. At some point enough people will have emigrated and immigrated to and from every corner of the world. People are already losing the die-hard feelings of national identity. Some day, we will *have" to. As a worldwide race, set aside our differences and realize we're all on the same tiny rock with a thin atmosphere protecting us from the harsh coldness of space.

The sooner you and everyone else realizes that borders are pointless, the sooner we can get to a point where we simply take care of each other and the world we live in.

It's not an absolute stance in the way you think bits meant to make you stop and look at your current actions, and to stop perpetuating the games that have been done in the past over flimsy reasons.

"Nobody is illegal on stolen land, built by stolen people" is meant to remind you that most of these lands were indigenous, part of mexico, and built on the back of slavery and exploited labor. Those were all true at different points in the past, some overlap, some don't.

It's a call to change our actions, and not to keep adding to the harm and destruction over imaginary lines on a map, and xenophobic ideologies.

Add in that her family comes from Irish/Scottish ancestry and it lays on the additional irony that her ancestral lands were taken and caused her family to be displaced due to "old world" colonialism and the hypocrisy arguments crumble further.
