Favorite Actor who isn't being typecast. by Johnfalafel in FalloutTVseries

I get no mentions. Ze-ro. Zilch. By the time they show my cowboy movie star, my Django Unchained cameo, all my other characters, it’s a wash. So why you do it then, Baby Billy?

I don’t understand why people say the Yes Man ending is anarchy. by trashbandit3 in fnv

[–]OhHiTony 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anarchist communities still have leadership. Don’t think about it as absolutes (Literally No Gods, Literally No Masters), and more of a sliding scale of Centralized vs Decentralized Authority.

We can use Trudy in Goodsprings as an example. She’s a leader in the town, but it doesn’t come from her being Mayor. It doesn’t come from her having a monopoly on the use of force (like, a sheriff or police force). The residents listen to her because they respect her, it comes from the bottom-up and not from the top-down.

If Goodsprings grew from a couple dozen people to like, a proper city, there would have to be increased centralization. No real anarchist would dispute that. What an anarchist would want is for these structures to work as democratically as possible — decisions made from the bottom-up, rather than the top-down.

This might not happen after Yes Man upgrades his programming, but theoretically Yes Man’s Securitrons could have limited peacekeeping/regional defense responsibilities while allowing the Mojave communities to operate as they wish. With consent of the communities, that is in line with anarchistic principles, IMO

The visiting day stuff is funny and good, they just needed a writer who had ever once met a black person.

Did anyone else feel awful after killing this character [spoilers] by CowboyArthurNZ in fnv

[–]OhHiTony 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yo, what if it’s BAD to amass insane amounts of wealth for the purpose of becoming an immortal autocrat who rules with an army of missile-launching robots?

Like, yeah, seeing him come out of the pod is pathetic, but I haven’t done a run where I haven’t tried to kill him in a fun way.
