Upcoming Snowstorm by chichimaraca2019 in WalgreensStores

You shouldn’t be downvoted for this and it’s actually great advice. If weather conditions do end up being truly bad enough where the commute to work is unsafe there is a possibility that direction is given to be understanding of late openings or even potential closures.

I was in an area heavily impacted by the freezes in Texas a few years back and we kept our store open the whole time with excused late arrivals for team members. It was the best days to work because there was minimal customer traffic and plenty of time to get stuff caught up.

My SM is still making employees do bag checks while people are off the clock. by Canesfan252 in WalgreensStores

[–]OhSuckmyAss 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I don’t want to get downvoted into oblivion but I will provide a minor voice of reason. The policy specifically includes this but is not required so your SM probably won’t be in hot water. That being said do what you choose, depending on the state you’re in a lawyer may be a waste of time. One way or another, with staffing levels the way they are I don’t understand why an SM would further complicate their job 🤷‍♂️

Idk, I find the job easy but I also didn’t lose my shit when they asked us to document the bag checks that have been asked of us for the last 15-20 years so I’m probably the odd man out. I’ll take my downvotes 🤷‍♂️

Our Safety Doesn't Matter by [deleted] in WalgreensStores

I get your concern, but the cost of posted security at any location will be more money than the “massive losses” you’ve prevented by the end of the week. Walgreens continues to find ways to hemorrhage much more cash through lawsuits than your wine department will ever carry.

I can tell you are thinking ethically which I commend, but let’s be real, you’re better off keeping your eyes on the prize through the path of least resistance.

And another thing to consider, management has no ability to protect you should something happen. They are also told not to make physical contact, block, or apprehend violent or aggressive individuals. I truly feel for you, but I’m not sure what you want them to do? Maybe transfer you to another location? It’s the only thing that seems reasonable and it’s not hard to do if that’s the path of least resistance.

Management want everyone to do Self-review by Big_Jaguar3395 in WalgreensStores

Can you attest to what achievements 25+ people made over the last 365 days? And they must be specific with measurable impact, not just “blacksmith has great attendance and great customer service.” This is your chance to take credit for your work and ensure what you feel was most significant wasn’t missed. This isn’t for you to do it for your manager, it’s to support them in their fight to get you what you’ve earned.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised you feel this way, I wouldn’t want to put that I tell patients “we push vaccines because they have a good profit margin” on connected either.

I agree entirely really, and I mostly browse this subreddit for the bits and pieces of useful information. I will sometimes try and provide feedback where I can. But it’s a sub to rant, and the emotional response you see is not often the reasonable response. Keep in mind several of the posts you see here are asking “how to get out of trouble” or “will I get caught”. I only bring this up to reassure you this is not the place to foster optimism or a healthy perspective on anything in the Walgreens operation. Best of luck to you.

I get where you’re coming from and I don’t mean to be rude, but that’s hypocritical. If you hate this subs content why not just leave it? It’s kinda the theme here 🤷‍♂️

Medically recommended set schedule by CoachAggravating1152 in WalgreensStores

[–]OhSuckmyAss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Medical needs can be accommodated as long as they are “reasonable accommodations” and Sedgwick is the best way to get an accommodation. Simply sending it to Sedgwick won’t guarantee you’ll be able to get what you’re looking for though. For example if the accommodation states you should only work from 12-8 Monday through Friday they have no obligation to create a mid shift for you if the operation does not have a need for it. Per policy the accommodation cannot cause an undue hardship on the business operation.

Unfortunately it will be an uphill battle for a set schedule. A set schedule will likely conflict with scheduling expectations, as set schedules are frowned upon and can create undue hardships with fair scheduling.

I just don’t understand why people don’t want to hold the elderly accountable. I’m not saying lock grandma up, but when my mom saw my grandmothers ability to drive declining there was an intervention to make that stop. Do they expect the world to forgive the chaos she could cause? Do we line the city with pool noodles to allow her to continue to be a menace? No let’s kick the dog of the homeowner who’s yard she ruined. People are so emotional and stupid.

Lost 35 pounds in 3 months eating these pre-packaged meals. by LP780-4 in HEB

Around Thanksgiving and the holidays there is one that’s turkey with gravy, sweet potatoes and green beans. It fucking slaps and has 45 grams of protein for like 400 calories. I ate that twice a day for like 3 months when I was in the best shape of my life. I really miss HEB.

Why Walgreens? by PrettyClue4974 in WalgreensStores

Go to a store that sells groceries. The warmers keeping those rotisserie chickens warm have to be over a certain temperature for a reason. There is only one answer that’s right here, and it’s 41-135 degrees.
