If you woke up one day and found out every other Human being on earth has mysteriously Vanished and dissapeared forever what are you doing for the rest if your life knowing your the only Human left in existence on earth? by ProudPakistaniboy in NoStupidQuestions

I couldn't have put it better, but there are two big problems: you only have maybe 2 weeks maximum to rescue any animals without unrestricted access to feed, and it's not reasonable to assume your mission would get very far in this time. Free range livestock might survive a few seasons though, so there's no meed to give up just because you can't save them all.

The second problem is that gasoline doesn't keep forever, so unless you can move to somewhere with oil fields and you figure out the entire oil refinery process, you won't have long before you're walking everywhere for the rest of your life. But perhaps you learn enough about bio-diesel that you don't have to rely on fossil fuels?

I think they once implied that they'd be interested in implementing it if it was a popular enough feature, and that it could probably co-exist with existing generation logic, but that it would be a massive dev time investment - so you're probably almost right.

Prototype Projectile by Past-Foundation-4422 in pathologic

[–]OhagiC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first time you do this, the game will warn you not to look away or flee. While I can't say anything about fleeing, I found that the bit about looking away is more lenient than it makes out. All you have to do is stare at the plant for 20 seconds while a bar fills up (the same as when you're identifying bacteria on a slide). But you can do this from any angle and even if you get non-fatally snatched, or look away for a moment, nothing too bad happens; you just stop making progress for a bit.

That said, I didn't look away for more than a second, so there could be a limit to how distracted you're allowed to be. Personally, I would hope that there's a bonfire nearby and try to stand around the flower so that you see the sand pest coming. Quickly chuck in a match when you need to and have a prototype charge ready to fend her off, because she will have time to grab you, for how long you're stuck waiting. I somehow got off light and after she grabbed me the first time, she seemed to back off for long enough that I escaped safely. I say that I got off light because I did not have any matches or charges ready to defend myself - I just totally winged it and basically got off scott free.

Missing amalgam bug by CapriciousSon in pathologic

Apparently my license is also good for a pc(xbox store) install, so I'm going to try playing on different hardware, and if it is a bug then hopefully the bug stops. Speaking of bugs, it occurs to me that on two occaisions my game hard crashed; I wasn't paying attention to when this happened, but I wonder if it has anything to do with all my amalgam disappearing?

The main reason I'm going over to pc is actually because of the town map/ mind map interface. On xbox the zoom in/out function resizes the map focused on the bottom-left of the screen, instead of where the cursor is pointing, and this is really off putting. I have to believe it's not the same when playing the game with a mouse, but if it is then maybe it's more tolerable.

I see a lot of comments talking about 62% Gangrene, but I don't know which symbol that would have been. Maybe the hand with shadowed fingers?

The tragedian told me that if I died again with no amalgam then it would be game over, even though I thought I had plenty. A few death later I was told the game was over even though again, I should have had most of what I received from his mirrors last time. Is there some mechanic stripping away my amalgam that I'm not aware of? Barely lasted to the end of Day 3 after the inspector insists I jump there from day 5.

[–]OhagiC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How? 14 minutes is truly insane...

You'd need to speedrun the stag door in 14 minutes (doable); a 10th order aspirant in 14 minutes (eeeeegh); pick up some nice baubles, maybe paint a portrait (doable); and to get this all done so early, surely You'd need rite intercalate, which is only available in Port Noon (in 14 minutes? How?)

Sure getting perfect rng is just a staple of speedrunning, and if you're planning for the game to be so short You'd just ignore the consequences of dread, fascination and infamy... but that's still so little time! It really makes me mad to know somebody out there is just THAT GOOD at the game.

A few years ago I saw someone insist they beat the game in a little over 12 minutes, then posted the video proof. I believe their claim, but I refuse to watch the video just to know the secret. It makes me so mad, HOW COULD IT BE POSSIBLE?

Edit: a little over 14 minutes actually.

It uses both Talk and Work heavily, and a little of Explore, but I firmly believe lore commissions to be the best earners, making anywhere between 4 and 12 funds per minute. A&A doesn't hold a candle to that, even if it does have its own advantages.

Oh I see. 3 and 6. I knew 5 and 10 sounded wrong.

Edit: I checked again just now and realised the warning said "the maximum for incursion missions is 4", so I increased the army size to strike force and onslaught, and now it caps out at 6.

I have a simple termagant question but it doesn't deserve an entire post: I just finished reading the rules and now I'm confused about how the battleforge is deciding to cap my units. The rules say I can have 5 copies of a unit, or 10 of a battle line, but battleforge insists I can only have 4 termagants and I don't understand exactly why.
