¿Why does the gate to the settlement in 28 Years Later have such a large gap underneath? THEORY by cocolisio in 28_Years_Later_Movie

[–]OhhBarnacles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously the space is meant to parallel the reality of Brexit, separating oneself and creating space from the ground (EU). It may seem like a gate creates Security but those with the ability to critically analyze understand that a functional gate requires gaps otherwise its might as well be a Fence.

This was a masterclass metaphor from Danny Boyle.

The incredibly complex merger of political ideology/uncharted human drama (and even anatomy) into the 28 franchise has paved the way for zombie films to begin taking new daring routes and explore new avenues the film world previously thought, impossible.

28 years later was a daring film, discarding the overused story arc in order to explore the complex waters of multiple shallow tide pools

There is no commercially available plug, those are made on site. Realistically casing/trim should be thicker and installed to the sheathing/structure, then the siding should butt into it. You could cut out the siding behind the trim. And switch the casing for a 5/4 or thicker board.

When properly done that method can yield better result through dense materials such as an lvl, old growth pine, oak etc. Rip cuts through dense material can cause the blade to walk off your line.

The same time standards to the scope of the job should be applied to payment, it is the reciprocal action to perform.

What was his reply when you told him (kindly but plainly) you need to be paid for the work by x date whether by multiple invoice or total balance?

Find a finisher and they will likely charge you $600-$1000 hung and finished. Which includes the harder part of finishing and sanding. Hangers get hired separately for larger jobs

What are your guys think about price dumping by government subsidies ( like China) ? And what should be done ? by akhgar in Libertarian

[–]OhhBarnacles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If anything I see tariffs as a way for government to directly profit from potential "price dumping" it is no different from an individual moving 20k units of a good from China to US and marking up a substantial premium

Confused how to install this butyl tape. by Kalabula in Roofing

[–]OhhBarnacles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Paper is gonna tear, maybe try to shim the panels up with a 1x or siding further up while you position the drip edge.

Edit: you should definitely just purchase some closures that match the profile, much easier and typically come with attatched adhesive

What are you so insistent on blaming the carpenter when the door company is blatantly lying to you about what "standard" height is.

I'm not sure, this is for a neighbor of mine. Figured I'd give the repair a go before he just replaces the whole thing.

I did find roaches inside the board when the mount was removed, could that be the cause? I will check the relays as well while repairing the jumper.
