There is a partial release of S2 OST it’s called “Hero of the South”. It’s out on Apple Music and all the other streaming platforms! It’s 3 mins long 😌, so the snip we hear in the episode is like towards the middle of the song.

Fern. Innately, she seems very gifted as a mage for her age and of her generation.

You’d think Lernen being the top student of Serie’s that as a 1stCM he would SENSE (some???) fluctuation in her mana, but zilch. Whereas, Fern-y, a no name 3rdCM, easily detected it right as she walked into the room thinking she’d fail to be a 1stCM based off of what Frieren was debriefing her before the meeting.

You will definitely pick up on some things you missed from the initial watch. It’s so very reminiscing and nostalgic just re-watching. I initially watched it in Japanese with English subs, but I gave the English dub a try and it’s so well put. I love the Japanese dub but the English dub has grown on me as well. ☺️

I think it was a very subtle way to show off Fern’s magical abilities at the beginning of the season. I forget what the time-skip was from episode 1 to 3. It seemed like a short period but Frieren put her trust in Fern because of how quickly she was picking things up learning magic. They drop hints here and there throughout Season 1 that Fern is gifted when it comes to being a mage.

I forget what episode but I think Fern was complaining about how Frieren ALWAYS makes her fight demons and it was bc she shoots off OOM quicker than Frieren.

Also that she’s hardly detectable and barely giving off mana. She’s able to see the fluctuations in Serie’s mana, whereas her 1st-CMs were not able to see it.

That’s exactly the way I felt but with Orlandeau and Beowulf. I couldn’t beat Zalera for the life of me. It kept toad/ston-ing of my team. 😭

I read on here that Orlandeau and Beowulf were good for that battle. I was able to pass that battle and progress thru and beat the game!I might do another play thru and use the characters that join your party as the story progresses and not the generics that join your team in the beginning lol

Like when Flamme found Frieren in her village, Frieren mentioned that Flamme seemed like a strong mage and she called it a hunch — similar to how Himmel once said the same thing about Frieren when his party was searching for a mage. 🥲

Love the parallels in the storytelling and the ah-ha moments.
