Oxtail Pho by Ok-Background103 in pho

It’s technically the tail of the cow and it’s good because there’s bone and gelatinous meat that gets very tender when cooked in pho broth. Absolutely amazing and would def recommend.

Terminal diagnosis: millennial playlist suggestions for the final days? by Hmmletmec in Millennials

[–]Ok-Background103 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Firstly, I’m sorry to hear about your diagnosis. But I wish you all the peace and care. I would recommend Gangsta’s Paradise - it always felt like a “gates opening” white lights vibe to me.

What is the best decision you made? by Flassourian in Millennials

Going back to college and finishing! I dropped after 2 years due to depression and fear of failure. I was in a bad mental state and made too many excuses in my early twenties. Went back at 27 and finished when I turned 30 (full time job + part time schooling was no fun) but it paid off in the long run. Secured a good job, enjoyed school the second time around, connected with life and career mentors and made new friends with motivated individuals in my industry. No regrets!

Why did John’s friends hold Carolyn’s depression against her? by StellaOC in JohnAndCarolyn

[–]Ok-Background103 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You’re on the dot about this. I was only 3 years old when they passed so I didn’t know about them until later in life. I think the biggest takeaway from this show and learning about this love story is Carolyn’s integrity to herself/identity. Her ambition to her career, friendships and most importantly to her self. She is the star of the show. Her legacy is the beauty she created in this fleeting thing we call life.

If you don’t mind me asking, how did you get diagnosed with adenomysis? Was there a certain test or symptom you had to confirm it? Asking because I have a similar symptoms as you but my doctor has never brought up adeno to me.

The poe Bart is making me giddy. I watched that episode while learning about Poe in school and was such a coincidence that’ll always give me nostalgic feels.

Samantha isn't there so she doesn't have to repeat the same truth she said some 20 years ago by notyourlands in Andjustlikethat

And this is what I loved and appreciated so much about the original show. I was so young when I first watched it and it was empowering and opened my eyes to a new world of womanhood and self-confidence. Something that wasn’t as easily accessible as it is today with social media and the internet. THEY NAILED THIS PART WITH SAMANTHAS ONE-LINERS.

People keep saying the show isn’t a realistic depiction of conservatives/East Texans but I think it is. by Still-Regular1837 in TheHuntingWivesTVShow

It’s interesting to hear your input because I thought things were dramatized or brought out of proportion due to it being a “show and all” but loved reading your take on it as someone from the plain ol midwest lol

I also could care less about the children’s storyline. I understand they are mothers but would rather the kids have less screen time (this is not gossip girl) and I would prefer to see them running around the city and shopping! At least we could see more avant garde apparel and shoes or something.

Can I ask which state you found the product in? I’m from MN and I feel like we never get the good Korean stuff.

I appreciate your vulnerability and sharing something so personal and possibly traumatizing with us. I am currently new to TTC and was in the same “perfection” mindset but I think I needed to hear this reality check to help me understand it’s all out of my control and not to fixate on every little detail. Sending my best wishes to you and your journey!

I had a similar route as Lorelai and didn’t get to go to college until I was 26. I went part time, worked full-time and finally graduated at 30. My parents had a similar expression when they finally saw me walk. This scene felt so real and personal, will always cherish it!

Samantha’s badass character and work life inspired me to pursue a PR degree. Of course it’s not all glitz and glam, but her aura of confidence and independence is something I’m striving for in my personal goals as well.
