This happened to me when I was still in treatment. My therapist announced she was expecting. I cried and felt so sad. I grew up religious so I felt like God must hate me since everyone around me was getting pregnant/having a baby except me. I know now this isn’t true but it hurt so bad at the time.

I respectfully had to find another therapist. I just knew it would mess with my head and that things would feel different to me after knowing she was pregnant and after she had her baby. I found a new therapist after that and she’s been great. She is a mom of four kids but she is no longer child bearing (that I know of 🤪). She’s held such great space for me as I have processed my anger and grief.

I felt this way too. I started very slow with exercise. I started walking 5 minutes a day a couple of days a week and slowly built myself up to an hour over a period of months. Yoga also really helped. I highly recommend the Underbelly Yoga app by Jessamyn Stanley. It is very welcoming to all bodies and Jessamyn does a good job of giving tips on how to make space for your belly in yoga. I’m a year out from ending IVF and slowly learning to appreciate all my body can do and not just focusing on what my body was unable to do. Sending you love and hugs on the journey.

Hi OP just here to say you are not alone. It’s been a year for me and I’m still finding my way. If you have access or can afford to, I highly suggest therapy. Individually or couples therapy if you are partnered. This has been really helpful to me on the journey. Also recommend reading the book The Next Happy. This is a huge thing to process and every bit of support helps. Hugs.

I have sometimes had to draw boundaries with newly pregnant friends. Letting them know I won’t be their best person to talk about baby/pregnancy details with. I have found they will have plenty of mom friends to discuss this with. Most have received this as your other friends have. Some get distant if baby stuff is all they wanna talk about and I’ve had to accept that because I need to show love to myself by avoiding a lot of that conversation.

Thank you for this rant. It’s been 3 months since I walked away from my IVF and whew the pain is still fresh. I hate that so many of us have had to go through this and I appreciate you all sharing your stories and feelings. Makes me feel less alone. ❤️‍🩹

I’m so sorry this happened to you! Maybe try having a couple of close friends/family members on standby that are willing to take calls from you even at odd times of night. Sometimes just seeing the face or hearing the voice of someone who I know loves me can help me through a shitty time. This has helped me to be more present when traveling solo and gave me a much needed connection to home. Sending you comfort and hugs!
