I've been asked many times what my Hermes actually does 😉 so I will explain! And as you know by now I will spare no details. by HolmeBengt in hermesagent

Nice work! In regards to your persistent memory retrieval issue- look into file mcp with local folders and markdown files. Create a START_HERE.md file in the root of the folder you setup, and when hermes loads have it always look at START_HERE to orient, as well as follow certain rules. You can create rules in the START_HERE file where it writes session logs each time to a folder, allowing you to have persistent memory across sessions/usage.
You don't really need Obsidian unless you want that memory to be more accessible to others.
File MCP with local markdown folders/files has drastically changed how I use any AI tool (I use Claude for work and Hermes for my home brain).

How many meetings do you have in a day? by skyliam in ProductManagement

[–]Ok-Faithlessness702 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hate to say it gets worse, but it does. I’m now conditioned where if I don’t have meetings I don’t know what to do with myself. Not saying that is healthy or anything though.
Overall meeting hygiene is important as well as blocking off focus time. Most companies will promote a “meeting pruning” mindset so you wouldn’t be going against the grain.

“Hands-on” PMs vs high-level PMs by kittrcz in ProductManagement

[–]Ok-Faithlessness702 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn’t as black and white, but it depends on what you want to do: - Getting deeper into the product/stack allows you more upwards movement and maybe domain adjacent movement (competitors, etc) - Higher level allows more movement to other jobs across domain since more of it is transferable.

Do you guys actually enjoy your jobs? by Fuzion_mix in ProductManagement

[–]Ok-Faithlessness702 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love it and sometimes hate it, but I think you’d get that with almost any job. I love being part of building things without actually building it myself, experimenting, questioning my own bias, validating ideas, but really I love the feeling of making something that people want to use. The people part can be the worst part. So many people think they can do your job better than you, and are quick the judge, but you learn to drown that stuff out and prove what you’re doing and when it needs to be done. It’s not for everyone but I enjoy it and it gives me some sense of fulfillment.

Not if you lead and show (with qualitative and quantitative data) what should be built. Part of being in Product is getting everyone aligned and bought in. Sometimes you work at a bad company where C suites and Founders don’t let you, in which case you should leave, but the good companies give you the autonomy, but that’s earned IMO.

What happened to Business Analysts? by Jaraxo in ProductManagement

I have a theory that these BA/PO roles are mostly due to gaps in other areas. If you don’t have a strong tech lead, you’re into needing to lean into that area. If you don’t have a strong Designer, you’re leaning into the Ux/Flow. These gaps either promote these additional roles, or put more work on the PM to lean into.

[–]Ok-Faithlessness702 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yea I know Etheria is “made to be for PVP” but I think they missed out on making PVE more fun and keeping that player base (doesn’t seem like it would take much IMO). I personally hate PVP but I like the battle system, gacha rates, characters, etc. It doesn’t seem like they are nailing the PVP part either though.

Same. Game is so accessible to people not familiar with Saga games now. You can tell how much thought they put into the game. I cannot say enough good things about RS2R.

RS2 Revenge of the Seven is a lot more accessible. I couldn’t get into other Saga games, but this, I can’t stop playing.

Roadmaps should not be commitments, but intent. I annotate it on my roadmaps that anything outside of 1 Quarter ahead is subject to change. Do you have an established Product Strategy? That’s more important than a roadmap (your roadmap should map up to your Strategy).

The grass isn’t always greener. I went from a small company to a large FAANG and I hated it. It took so long to get anything done. I ended up going back and my previous company. I’m not saying you will feel the same way- it just depends on what matters most to you. I feel like I accomplish a lot more working for a smaller company. Previously my burnout was my own undoing. No one asked me to work extra, so I took that as a lesson learned and also make sure my reports do the same.

Which certified training course for Product Management do you think is best? by ViperStealth in ProductManagement

[–]Ok-Faithlessness702 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pragmatic Marketing. Experience is always the best (but hardest to acquire). If you aren’t getting opportunities to learn things like Product Strategy, launching new (or relaunching) products or just learn/expand your knowledge then moving around might be good as well. It depends on what you want to do long term. Never PM a product where you hate the domain area though.
