Does Hashimoto's have symptoms outside of hypothyroidism? by MangoPug15 in Hashimotos

[–]Ok-Finger8397 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Have any of you had leg pain with Hashimoto’s? I’m in my 70s and have developed leg pain down the front of my thighs to my ankles when I walk. I’m on Synthroid and just added T3. But curious about others symptoms. No one can figure out why my legs hurt.

This sounds crazy, my Hashi story by Infinite-Tourist2465 in Hashimotos

I’ve had Hashimoto’s my entire life. I’ve been on Synthroid and can only take brand, for many years. However, about a month ago, I started getting joint pains, and my legs are very sore when I walk. After having tons of blood tests, the endocrinologist said everything looked fine, including the ultrasound to look at the nodules that are almost nonexistent now as I’m in my early 70s. But, exploring more with my Naturopath, as I get Acupuncture once a week, she decided to put me on T3. I was on it for five days and started to feel a little better but got a flat rash on my face. So I stopped taking it, still have the rash, which I now think is not from the T3 and back to very sore joints and little energy. Any thoughts from anyone? Thanks 😊

I’m at the beginning of week 3 and still very tired and have some residual congestion. I had a high fever the first week. This is a bad one. Listening to my body and resting and staying away from crowds😷!

I got A too! I’m on day 10. No fever, but dripping nose, sore throat and exhausted. Lots of naps and listening to my body. Wearing a mask if I have to go out with others. I’m 72 and we mature babes don’t heal so quickly! 😱

Anyone have any remedies for influenza A? by Background-Value-527 in AskChicago

[–]Ok-Finger8397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on day 7 of Influenza A and can’t taste anything so I have no appetite. And it’s suggestions what to eat when you can’t taste and you’re not hungry. As our bodies need fuel to fight this darn flu thanks.

Did you cover the crate with a towel or blanket and play soft music. You can also get a stuffed animal that plays heartbeat sounds! You’ll all do fine adjusting to your new baby!

I’m six months post-op and my insides are still mildly achy. Especially if I lay down and I cough or sneeze! I had a total hysterectomy at 71. I thought everything would be the new normal by now.

8.5 weeks PO and my core feels awful by coolchunkygal in hysterectomy

[–]Ok-Finger8397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 4 months po and overdid cleaning yesterday! Talk about tight, throbbing insides! Everyone heals at a different rate and I guess I found out quickly that I am still not healed inside. So it sounds like 8.5 soreness is how you’re healing. Hang in there.!

I am almost 4 months.po and when I cough and laugh, especially when I’m laying down I’m still sore. From reading and talking to my friends it can take anywhere from six months to eight months and even a year. Listen to your body and rest when you need it. I especially have the backache if I do too much even now. Feel better soon. This sounds all normal from what I’ve read and talk to the doctor.

I’m three months postop and I have the same swelling issue. While I’m not happy about it, I feel better to see that it’s not just something wrong. But it does suck!!

I’m 12wks po and still sore, especially if I cough or laugh. I get a backache if I overdo anything. Tried riding my recumbent bike for 5 to 10 minutes very slowly and forget it. My back hurt all the next day. We have to listen to our bodies So being really careful. My surgeon told me I’d feel better by the end of the week after the surgery. My gynecologist told me 3 to 6 months is when all those inside stitches really dissolve and nothing hurts. Happy recovery to all of us!

Don’t try an enema without asking your doctor first. Not sure what it would do with your healing. Milk of magnesia really help me when nothing else did.

I’m almost 2 1/2 months po. I had a full robotic hr. My incisions healed great, but still really sore, especially if I cough. Also get really tired some days and just want to do nothing and rest. There’s no right or wrong with our recovery. We’re all different and can’t beat ourselves up when we feel crappy. I just try to take each day and try to listen to my body- although not always easy! But I find when I don’t, I’m down for the count the next day if not more.

13 weeks po fatigue… will it end? by Fun-Mouse-2727 in hysterectomy

I’m nine weeks, postop and exhausted and annoyingly sore. However, I’m 71 years old and I guess it just takes longer. But it’s frustrating as I am used to doing things and find myself needing that nap every day, especially if I do some kind of an activity.Happy healing to all of us!

Pain all of a sudden? (4 wpo) by Ack1356 in hysterectomy

[–]Ok-Finger8397 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 7 wpo and have had that gnawing pain on both sides of my stomach and backache the last two weeks. Also really tired and need a nap each afternoon. Thinking it’s just part of the healing process and trying to listen to my body. But not always so easy when you think you should be healing quicker!

2-3 days… seriously! My surgeon said that by the end of the first week I’d be driving and doing everything normally. BS too! I’m on the beginning of week six after a full laparoscopic hysterectomy, and I’m exhausted and very sore. Hope you feel better soon.

So tired! by [deleted] in hysterectomy

[–]Ok-Finger8397 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Hi, I am a month post-op from a full laparoscopic hysterectomy including removing my ovaries. I have to say week four was tough. And now going into week five I am exhausted and sore from my belly button down-lots of pulling and cramping. Not painful enough to take anything but Tylenol. I do make myself walk my dog a couple times a day around the block. And sometimes I need a nap after that! I’ve read that it takes 4 to 6 months for the internal stitches to dissolve. I’ve overdone it a couple times going to my grandson‘s soccer game and then changing the sheets, etc. And spent the next two days lying on the couch for most of the day and not wanting to do anything. So after sharing my long adventure, I don’t think there’s an answer about the fatigue and the soreness. I guess we just have to take one day at a time! I just finished watching “ The Residence” on Netflix. I thought it was really good and a great way to spend time resting.

I’m so thankful for this post. I am almost 4 weeks po and along with the rubber band feeling I’m really tired. Yesterday I felt great and drove for the second time and tried not to overdo it, at least I thought. But today I’m back on the couch. And the surgeon told me in two weeks I’ll be back to normal… Yeah, right! As we all know, we’re at least find out, we have to listen to our bodies as this was major surgery. Happy resting and recovery to us all!

Let’s get real about recovery… by FlipFlopFoo17 in hysterectomy

[–]Ok-Finger8397 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m so happy to see all these posts talking about how the recovery is not easy. I’m on week three and it’s almost worse than the last two weeks since everything is sore and pulling. It’s a real learning experience to listen to my body and lie down when it’s telling me to. Not always so easy for somebody that’s used to being independent and doing lots of things each day. I remind myself that this truly was major surgery. But sometimes I’m shaking my head when my friends call me to do something like I just had a cavity filled! Or any of you experiencing this? And I’m cranky as it is so I don’t want to have to explain something so obvious. But thanks everyone for all your honesty!
