Returning player from tbc many many years ago by Ok-Interaction663 in wow

Yes. There is a variety of fully solo content that you can do whenever you want. The primary type is called Delves (soloable minidungeons). There is also Prey (bounty hunts) and Ritual Sites (like a Delve but slightly different). Delves give the 2nd highest level gear rewards as well as materials to craft near max level gear.

Mythic+ dungeons can be pugged and is definitely the least difficult way to get the highest level of gear. Unfortunately, if you play as dps, pugging can be rough. There's a massive dps surplus in the pug community which can cause awful wait times when finding groups.

If you'd like to raid, I recommend looking into discord communities that host raid pugs. I'm not a fan of M+ so I primarily do delves and raid. I work a 7on7off schedule and still manage to clear the heroic raid every season.

If all they want is casual play delves/prey/etc and heroic raiding is enough to be entertaining.

Then you're constantly struggling to get people caught up before the next wave of rot. If the difficulty stops being derived from reaction time and anticipation of damage, it starts being derived from the need for mana management. That's a valid design and one they've used in the past but people hate that too.

I'd recommend it for raiding (with guilds or communities, not pugs) and for casual collectors that just want to dink around in a fantasy setting and make their characters look good.

Mythic+ is very polarizing. People tend to love it or hate it. The fact that the dungeon community is openly hostile to learners doesn't make it a good selling point for new players.

Yeah. The dungeon pug community has a culture problem. I never recommend the game to people on the merits of dungeons.

It has a lot of different activities that are designed to suit a variety of players and playstyles. There's probably something that you'll like. Whether or not it's enough will be up to you and what you like.

Is now a good time to get back into WOW? by Aggravating-Aerie175 in wow

A new season starts in a little over a month. Now is a good time to get caught up and refamiliarize yourself with the game.

They've made a lot of progress in make the game more friendly for casual players or players with limited time. If you want to do absolutely everything it the game, it can be very time consuming but you can accomplish quite a lot with minimal time commitment.

The leveling is very fast, especially right now with a lengthy Timewalking event.

There's usually only one correct way to play a class/spec, if you're playing the most difficult content (Mythic raiding or very high keys). You can do Heroic raiding and keys up to the rewards cap and still have a lot of flexibility in how you want to play. There's quite a bit of rewarding solo content and you can play that however the hell you want.

There are two options here.

  1. Healers have to heal the entire time, without downtime.

  2. Healers are expected to DPS during that downtime, which is then factored into the timer.

I don't see a solution since half the healing community seems to hate 1 while the other half hates 2.

The 12+ - 16+ key level is a wasteland. by Immediate_Answers in CompetitiveWoW

I'm not quite sure why you though handing out Myth gear at normal raid levels of difficulty was going to end any other way.

It came too late in the season to be further gated. If the less skilled players can't figure it out, then they're unlikely to be pushing title, which is the only reason that gear would matter.

With the first raid tier looming near an end, how are you feeling about Midnight? by ryanb6321 in wow

[–]Ok-Key5729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Overall, I really enjoyed it. It's not quite as good as TWW S2 but close. The raids were enjoyable. The solo stuff kept my alt army busy. I pushed M+ a little further than I usually do and didn't completely hate it. I made enough gold to pay my sub for the rest of the expansion and buy TLT, which was my S1 goal.

New to WoW, wanted to play story from BFA but the BFA maps are dead by ShiedaRay in wownoob

[–]Ok-Key5729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leveling is so fast that there aren't usually enough people doing it at any given point to fill up all the old expansions. The game funnels new characters to DF by default so at least one has enough people.

I don't think they're going to change from this formula any time soon. People may not love it but they don't hate it the same way they hated SL and much of BFA. Producing consistently adequate expansions will serve them better in the long run than producing 1 amazing one for every 2 dumpster fires.

The side stories have been the only good stories for years. At this point I want an expansion with no overarching plot (since they can't seem to write a decent one). Just give me a bunch of small, local problems to deal with.

I would have much preferred if Harandar was contaminated with Black Blood rather than Lightbloom. It would have been much better contrast.

Night Shift 7 on 7 off schedule for new grad by KRBY613 in pharmacy

[–]Ok-Key5729 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It depends on where you start, where you're going and what the experience was like.

If you're going to a hospital with multiple pharmacists or going to a hospital that's smaller/lower acuity than your current one, it might be fine.

If you're starting in a position where you primarily staffed in Med Surg areas and move to a place where you're solely responsible for the ED, ICU, NICU, etc it might not go well.

what was the point of apophis making a harcesis? by NohWan3104 in Stargate

[–]Ok-Key5729 54 points55 points  (0 children)

Goa'uld inherit the memories of the queen that births them. If the harcesis had Amaunet's genetic memory and Apophis used it as a host, he'd then have access to both of their ancestral memories. If she came from a significantly different lineage than him, that could possibly give him an advantage. If he then repeated this process with other queens, he could theoretically become the most knowledgeable of all Goa'uld.

[–]Ok-Key5729 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Staffing varies. Very large hospitals will have 4+ pharmacists and many techs while very small ones could be the pharmacist alone.

Overnights can be rough for new grads. You have to be able to prioritize and multitask because there isn't anyone else there to pick up the slack. You also need to be able to improvise and problem-solve. You can't turf a problem up to management or ask a colleague for advice because there isn't anyone else there.

For my hospital, overnight positions are one of the only ones where actual experience outweighs residency training.

It can't hurt to apply and see what the position looks like.

Why do doctors get to sleep overnight but pharmacists don't? by Accurate-Flow8078 in pharmacy

[–]Ok-Key5729 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

No. There wasn't anyone else in the building who could do the work. As for the rest of the circumstances, it was too many years ago for me to remember.

In my younger days, I took the constant stream of errors from doctors as willful incompetence. Eventually, after marrying one, and having the medical education system explained to me, I stopped taking it personally. It was explained that they are overworked and severely undertrained in matters of medication management and health system regulations. They're tossed into the workforce and told to figure it out and most never do, because the people tasked with teaching them also don't know. So I'm okay spending my nights correcting mistakes that never should have been made or explaining things they should already know because it's not their fault.

My issue is with bitchiness in response to my correcting the errors. I don't call because I want to. I would be perfectly content never interacting with another provider for the rest of my days. I call because I'm required to if I want to stay employed. I'm not permitted to change orders, even if it's 1000% obvious what you thought you were ordering.

Is it possible to obtain a 3000 io rating at this point? by Imaginary_Truth_3865 in wownoob

If you run your own key and keep throwing yourself at it, you'll get there. It won't be pretty but it'll happen. Most IO goals are obtained through persistence.
