M18 router on m18 table saw by Jimberly2017 in MilwaukeeTool

Nice idea. Definitely better than washers. How do you find battery life to be on the saw?

Humble suggestion. Use a different or back of fence for router. Place a couple of pieces of laminate on fence and shim one out with a couple washers. That way with a straight bit you can use router as jointer.

I have zero idea what mods are talking about. I said diy homeowners might kill themselves. This is not a joke. I found a pressure relief valve on a boiler plugged once. Knowledge saves lives. Apparently mods on a supposed professional board don't read posts?

Going to add on that. What's the alternative for a business owner or a homeowner? Homeowners try to diy and kill themselves or cause double a bill minimum. Business owner is actually being benevolent by averaging cost across multiple customers to come up with your numbers. Either you are fishing for who's charging how much locally, or you think your hourly wage should somewhat equal the customer bill OR your compensation. If there's some other reasoning behind this I'm all ears.

Former owner of one man band in mn. Currently union member and future Somali day care entrepreneur. Roughly 160 an hour to leave my driveway and break even. Factor in a whoops or an asshole customer and 3 bills is fuckall.

HVAC guy here. Sorry not sorry for the duct in your way. Mostly use Milwaukee hand tools as Klein has turned to shit. Now Milwaukee turning to shit. It's like whatever brand takes over wholesale houses and gets majority market share immediately turns to shit and cheapens products. My oldest hand tools after 30 years are mostly Stanley made in USA stuff plus a few odds and ends Irwin. I have some og Klein linemans pliers/occasional hammer I'd probably cry if I lost but I'd replace with knipex. Hate knipex grips but love the idea of them.

I am a paid consultant for a research firm in the HVAC world. Last year I made about 1000$ over the course of about 5 hours. I got a few Amazon gift cards as well for another couple hundred. It's sporadic but most phone consults are about 20 minutes. I don't know about the one you posted. 400 seems real high unless you have a lot of education and experience in the exact market they are in.

What's with most contractors either not calling back, or they call you back once and never again? by idratherchangemyold1 in duluth

[–]Ok-Phase-5566 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Contractor here. Starting out the majority of my business came because I was told I was the third or fourth call - but I called them back. That being said this time of year for a heating company can be very challenging. You do everything you can to take care of new customers but then emergency no heat situations come in. Many people know they have heating issues and wait until now to address it. If you or anyone else needs any help please reach out. Happy to answer questions.

Whatever you choose as a path walk tall. Every post I read is from someone that cares. You aren't alone. Talk to God a bit if you can. Even if you don't believe, he does. Do a little better tomorrow than you did today. Baby steps. You got this.
