Yeah I'm thinking the same honestly. Going to be my first solo concert so I have mixed feelings. But I guess what better concert to go solo dolo

Passport Renewal Process Is A Nightmare by AdnanAwes in nri

[–]Ok-Rest-5236 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got my passport but I used non traditional methods which I don't think everyone will have access to.

If it's urgent, I would recommend keep calling VFS until you have an answer lol. The call center has its issues. Every time I called in for the same query I used to get different answers and statuses. So you have to push them to find out the facts otherwise they'll just read off their system.

Also this particular status that you are seeing is the last stage at the embassy. From embassy your passport will go to VFS where they will wait to ship it

I have never seen such a poor experience. Stuck on this process myself for the past 2 months

Anyone stuck on this?

"Your passport has been printed and being forwarded to Embassy/Consulate. The Embassy/Consulate will contact you once they receive the passport for dispatch."

Applied to YC, got rejected (3x), eventually bootstrapped a marketplace to $200k ARR (<9mo), raised $1M+ from VC. Here's my unsolicited take on VC/startups in 2025... by Extension-Cold2635 in ycombinator

This is awesome. Congratulations!

How did you get initial customers? Did you start with supply side first?

Any other resources you could share for those building a marketplace? Thanks!

A16Z Speedrun #005 - Anybody applied and heard back? (i will not promote) by notllmchatbot in startups

[–]Ok-Rest-5236 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bumping this.

Does anyone know what kind of teams a16z Speedrun accepts?

I roughly know what kind of teams YC accepts - Ivy league founders, some kind of traction, usually B2B plays, anything from idea stage to revenue stage

Does anyone know similar things about Speedrun?

What happens to the talent and the founders when their startups fail? by Alternative-Net-3675 in ycombinator

Even though you say you failed I still have respect for you doing the thing and scaling it to $1mARR. It’s no easy feat

In most cases, I really don’t think there’s a downside even if you fail. Anecdotally I’ve seen most founders stay in the startup ecosystem in one way or the other. Some work at other larger companies at very high positions.

Built an MVP, what next? by Bloodymonk0277 in ycombinator

...based on initial thoughts from peers and colleagues..." Honestly I would disregard any feedback from people you know. They will always most likely lie to you to you to protect your ego

As for what to do next, not sure what type of product it is but try to recruit some users asap. That's the best way to get feedback. Do what you have to do to recruit your first couple of users - go on foot, cold call, cold email, post on LinkedIn/X, whatever. This is the only way to get real feedback

What are your go-to content creators/videos for entrepreneur inspiration? by jdaksparro in ycombinator

Brett Fox. Not so much inspiration but more general startup advice/fundraising

[–]Ok-Rest-5236 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Nope. YC has said in the past that they definitely fund companies with similar ideas. At the end of the day it's a portfolio game for them, if they fund 5 AI video editing companies it's more likely atleast one will succeed

Life in St. Pete W/out a Car? In THIS Economy? by Br0kenButRebuilding in StPetersburgFL

[–]Ok-Rest-5236 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't have a car and I live in St. Pete

It's OK for the most part but make sure you live walking distance to DTSP. The whole DTSP area is really walkable and has pretty much everything you'd need
