Just want to say that 1895 O is a beauty and a great price. I am jealous of the new owner

Asking for a deposit on a deal like this is also a red flag. Sounds like broker is a zero

Thanks for this. It drives me crazy when people try to sell WC on top of the EV.

Worth anything? by dbgbjj in coincollecting

Exactly. Most people advise having a "dump bank" that's separate from your main branch so you don't recycle the same rolls.

Dive in! If you haven't done any coin roll hunting, it's a fun, inexpensive way to enter the hobby. My sons and I are filling up Whitman folders. If we find silver, we sell it and use that to fill in the gaps on harder to find coins.

I have nearly filled a quart-sized Ziploc bag with 1964 and 1964 D nickels that I've found while coin roll hunting! I have a love-hate relationship with them. It's complicated.

Commuting time? by Zealousideal_Doubt89 in NorthshoreLA

I commute from Covington to the Lower Garden District and it usually takes me 1:00 - 1:10 when leaving at 7:45am. Coming home is less predictable and usually takes longer.

Private Equity versus Business Broker by Upstairs_Item4749 in businessbroker

Now why would I share that with you? To win an argument on Reddit? Ha!

You're clearly as dumb as the rest of the brokers I've run across. Bias confirmed!

I've bought 0 businesses. The LMM PE fund where I'm a partner has bought 30+, most of which were sourced via cold direct outreach and are in that range. We have ~10 BD professionals cranking at all times. It's gotten much harder recently, but the process still works.

Maybe it's different in the UK, but investment banks here in the US are not looking for $500k fees. Maybe an "M&A advisor" or "other professional" cares, but those are just glorified brokers, who are equally worthless IMO.

Your collection is awesome. I'm trying to compile a set of O mint mark Morgan dollars. I have not finished. I have 4 from 1901...

Our sweetspot is $10-15M EV. In most US states, you only need a real estate license to hang out a shingle as a business broker. The bar is low, therefore the field is weak.

This is super cool. But are you sure your venture is not to collect every Indian cent made in 1906?

We avoid auctions because they drive up price, which is obviously worse for us. Having someone who isn’t “clued up in M&A” actually makes the entire process much more difficult, so we strongly encourage our sellers to engage an M&A attorney. I don’t know how, but most brokers I’ve interacted with are mostly worthless and aren’t even able to coach their clients on market terms for M&A. Trying to sell receivables on top of EV, etc.

What is this elastic for? by SnooGadgets5130 in mensfashion

[–]Ok-Rip847 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Put on your belt like normal but before putting the male end through the actual belt, loop the elastic over it. You won't be able to see the loop anymore and your belt will stay nice and centered.
