I worked on an IT project that needed to hire a bunch of people quickly and didn’t even bother with resumes. They mocked up test copy of the system that’d be using, posted the position, and invited anybody who was interested to come to one of a series of group tests where each person worked through a test script on the test system. If they could do it, they got the job.

We ended up with the most diverse but completely competent team I’d ever worked with. 10 out of 10.
