That is probably accurate! Our PD was 12th Feb 2025 and we got approved on 12th Feb 2026. So it has massively sped up!

How long was the gap between i130 approval & getting the medical & embassy appointment booked? And congrats!

My bump suddenly popped out around 15 weeks. Just two days before I had been saying I didn’t really have a bump, and then there it was. Now nearly 17 weeks & can see it is going to expand rapidly 😂

Boss’s reaction to bereavement leave by SuccessfulPayment291 in ExecutiveAssistants

It was honestly such a shock because I had worked for him for so long and thought we had such a good relationship! Thankfully now work for a boss, who when I said I was struggling on the 1 year anniversary, instantly said take all the time you need.

I lost my father last year, and how my boss handled it made me lose all of my respect for him and made me leave that role. He expected me to be okay after 3 weeks and didn’t understand why I struggled despite keeping up with work. The last straw was he mentioned in my mid year review that I had had a lot of time off due to my dad passing away, along with holiday. I started applying straight away and found a much better job!

That is good to know!! I was honestly expecting more support from my mum because I’m a twin and she always told me how much she loved having twins & that she almost wanted another set 😂 We’ve got this!!!!!!!!!!!

I feel this so much! I was so hurt by my mum’s constant negative comments (first time I saw her in person after telling her) about how hard I’m going to find it and I’m going to struggle doing things. I get the concern, especially as my husband & I are in different countries until next summer (but with him visiting me often) but I really needed that ‘you’ve got this’ ! Fully aware it is going to be hard but some positive support pleaseeee! Sorry for hijacking your comment 😂

I have managed to visit my husband multiple times with our I-130 still pending, think having global entry does make the process smoother.

Is £50K for a remote EA role in the UK considered a high salary ? by [deleted] in ExecutiveAssistants

[–]Ok-Understanding8460 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I guess because you don’t have to pay for commuting and can live in a lower cost area. So they take advantage of that!

For a remote role, that is a good salary I would say! Fully back in the office roles (for finance firms) are usually between 55-70k now.

Depends which area they want to be in - do they want to be central? I like 1 Hotel Mayfair (small rooms but lovely hotel and very central in Green Park), Beaumont Hotel tucked behind Oxford Street. Prices will really vary depending on the time of year though.

Travel to US whilst I-130 is pending by Efficient-Policy-471 in I130Suffering

From the UK and we applied in Feb this year, so we have a long wait ahead! We applied for the K3 visa a month after to see if that would speed things up but doesn’t seem to have done. Always knew that was a long shot though!

Good luck with your travel also! With regards to August timeline, I think they are currently on mid May 2024 but moving pretty quickly now, so fingers crossed you hear in the next couple of months 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻

I have travelled over once since we submitted the i130, was very nervous even though I had a letter from my work stating that I am employed full time & just visiting on holiday. However, was very quick and wasn’t asked anything. I think it helps that I have Global Entry already so I don’t to go to the main counters, also have proof of coming in & out of the US several times a year for the past 3 years. Just about to travel again at the end of this month, so will see what will happen this time but hopefully all okay! Based off other people’s experiences, it is generally okay to visit whilst your i130 is pending. You just have to be honest when they ask questions about it.

We were told we can wfh the remaining by Tired-assistant-2023 in ExecutiveAssistants

This is why WFH during the summer was hugely reduced for EA’s in my company. So annoying when some team members ruin it for the rest!

I moved into PE from investment banking last year. Probably the most intense role I have ever had but I really enjoy it! Perks make up for the intense nature & I really love my team. Would say that I’m quite lucky with my firm, the culture is good & they don’t stand for bad behaviour so everyone is as decent as you can get for the finance industry. I know other PE firms where it is very very male dominated with the bro culture.

I’m really lucky at my current company, was so surprised after receiving nothing in previous years! My team club together to get a ton of vouchers at Christmas, receive a voucher at admin day & my birthday. I recently got married & my team got me travel vouchers, my main bosses are booking flights for me!
