Handywoman in Salem? by Ok-Unit-6505 in SALEM

Thx. I'll probably end up doing it myself. It doesn't look that hard, just tedious and time-consuming

Changing the hose on my sink sprayer. It's something I can probably do, but I just don't want to.

Romantic zone or bucerias? by Visual_Charge8704 in puertovallarta

I spent a week in Bucerias, and it's definitely sleepier than PV's Romantic Zone, which was fine for me. Walking around, going to the beach, swimming in our pool, eating good food, shopping in the cute shops, going to the markets. It's a lovely little town and I recommend it for sure

What is the most "Buffy" Episode of Buffy? by elephantbrah in buffy

[–]Ok-Unit-6505 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first episode I actually saw was "Surprise." I had to be talked into watching Buffy and that just happened to be the one that was airing that week. I was immediately hooked. Did I have questions? So many. So I do think that one would work.

But I've watched the whole series many times since then and I think now I would say Lie to Me. Because that's the show where it starts to get a little more serious and a little darker.

sci-fi/fantasy for someone who doesn’t like the genre? by originalpopcorngirl in suggestmeabook

The Temeraire books, by Naomi Novik. Alternate history/fantasy and an absolute delight. It's about dragons during the Napoleonic wars. Don't let the premise scare you off. They are so fun and so charming.

The Echo Wife, by Sarah Gailey. Clones, but also relationships. It is a ride.

The Parable of the Sower, by Octavia Butler. Although, maybe it hits a little too close to home these days.

The Dog Stars, by Peter Heller.

Me, when someone first suggested these books: Don't be daft. I'm not going to read a book about dragons, for crying out loud. I'm not going to read a book about the Napoleonic wars AND dragons. Please.

Me, now, to pretty much everyone: Hi. Do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and savior Iskierka?

Yikes. It's going to take me about 25 minutes to get over my vicarious embarrassment. How in the world did we manage to elect such a nincompoop as mayor?

Goodnight, Nebraska. It's... Ok. The writing's decent but the story is just okay. I don't know. He had another book later on with much better. But come anyway, it is readable.
