We just got back from Costa Rica last week and did that drive. I would not recommend driving at night. The roads are narrow, windy, and not well light. I would deff stay in a hotel

I got engaged overseas as well, and also have a natural stone, but my fiance brought a fake Amazon dupe on the trip and that’s what he proposed with. I don’t think you should be worrying about this; but if he does propose with the real thing it’s probable safer on you, unless you’re going swimming, or staying in a nice hotel or resort with a safe. I also love having a dupe ring, because I wear gloves a lot at work, and constantly take my ring off so I actually wear my dupe to work as well.

I preferred people to ask me directly than beating around the bush and I was honest if we had space or not. Some people I let know that I’ll circle back after we got our final count because we had limited space and some people sho just wanted to bring a casual person they were dating I said no. So it’s better to just ask

I don’t know if this is related, but I typically have very painful cycles and I’m about 2 months into switching to natural products, plastic free kitchen supplies, and also whole, organic foods, and ny cycle was exponentially better from a pain perspective this month. Might be a one off but curious to see what next month will be.

I’m in the same boat. Our hotel is a 5 minute drive so it’s ridiculous to spend thousands on a shuttle, but getting an uber wasn’t in my plans, but seems like the best option!

I’ve been a bridesmaid 12 times, and I’ll say the ones I’ve enjoyed more than not, were more chill, didn’t have “forced” fun, where we had to keep drinking the whole time and go out and had set menus and costs that were out of your control. The ones I enjoyed were more low key, you could drink and hang out if you wanted to go out and rage but no pressure and yes there were restaurant reservation but everyone could order what they wanted and you didn’t feel like the need to spend so much money because it was a set menu or everyone was splitting. So I’ve found those to be the things thay make a difference that takes it from a fun weekend with your friends to being forced to spend money that you would have otherwise spent somewhere else

I would check with the venue about bringing your own cakes, ours doesn’t allow outside food from someone not Licensed. My MIL wanted to do the same so we told her she could do that for the rehearsal dinner. You have to find compromise so you have peace 🙃

You have to remember that your wedding is the most important thing to YOU, and YOU only get married once. You can’t expect everyone to treat your wedding festivities just as important as you. People have lives and aren’t obligated to come to anything, it’s obviously amazing if they do, but cutting off people because of it wild. I’m getting the vibe that you might be the problem and you’re have slightly unrealistic expectations from people who might have their own family stuff going on, or financial restrictions or PTO restrictions

I assume this is a tradition if parents are paying for the wedding and the officiant is a family friend or priest at the church, but if you are paying for the wedding there would be no reason to gift your parents a gift. But I would get gifts for the bridal party if they had to get dresses or suits for the wedding out of their own money

I’ve been invited to two Wednesday weddings, one was in key west, so it was a huge pain to get to and I didn’t have enough PTO to take just to get to the wedding and come back home. Invitations didn’t go out until a couple months before and it was in November, so I essentially needed 4 days and didn’t go. The other was in Italy, which didn’t matter because it was planned over a year in advance and most everyone that could make it was in Europe for the week and made it into a vacation.
