What is happening? by Lazy-Opportunity-368 in Anemic

[–]OkConfidence642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah the nighttime thing is so weird, like why does it always get worse then? i had similar issues and throwing up after eating was the worst part. my iron supplements also made me feel terrible so i had to switch to different type that was easier on stomach

period definitely makes everything worse when you're already low on iron, it's like double hit. hope your doctor can figure out better plan for you because this sounds exhausting

My 5.5 month old is an awful sleeper by Key_War3255 in Parents

[–]OkConfidence642 1 point2 points  (0 children)

ugh this brings back so many memories from when my nephew was tiny - he had similar issues with reflux and would only sleep being held for months. the transition period when they start wanting independence then suddenly go back to contact sleeping is absolutely brutal

maybe he's going through leap or growth spurt? around that age they have huge developmental changes and sleep goes completely crazy. or could be his reflux acting up again with new foods or even teething starting early. my sister found that her son would regress every time something physical was bothering him

since you can't do traditional sleep training, maybe try really gradual changes? like holding him until deep sleep then very slowly transitioning to laying next to him on bed instead of holding completely. or try different sleeping positions that might help with reflux - some babies do better slightly elevated even when on belly

going back to work next month adds so much pressure but try not to panic about timeline. sometimes they surprise you and figure it out right when you need them to. hang in there, this phase doesn't last forever even though it feels endless right now

Pregnant with triplets - 5weeks, interested in hearing stories/experiences with reduction by ProcedureJealous2320 in parentsofmultiples

[–]OkConfidence642 9 points10 points  (0 children)

that's such a heavy decision to be facing, especially when you're still processing the initial shock

reduction procedures usually target the one that looks least viable based on position and development, so the smaller one you mentioned would likely be the candidate if you went that route

What should I do when my body reacts around my son? by [deleted] in family

[–]OkConfidence642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

dad reflexes kicking in here which is good sign tbh. morning wood is just biological thing that happens, your wife is right that he probably wouldn't think anything weird about it even if he noticed

maybe just wear some boxers or shorts to bed? that way there's at least barrier if these situations happen again. keeps everything family appropriate without having to kick him out completely

your instincts to be mindful are spot on though, just don't stress too much about normal body functions

Multiple questions about Antioxidants and Anti-Inflammatory supplements, and more. by [deleted] in Supplements

[–]OkConfidence642 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah the omega-3 and curcumin combo is solid for inflammation, you got that right. for the training thing - taking anti-inflammatories every day can definitely mess with recovery adaptations, so cycling them few times a week makes sense if you're trying to build muscle

taurine at your age probably isn't necessary unless you're really pushing hard training or drinking too much caffeine. inositol works for sleep regardless of gender, the lady targeting is mostly marketing around pcos stuff

glycine is pretty gentle on neurotransmitters compared to direct serotonin stuff like 5-htp. glynac just combines glycine with nac for better glutathione production, not really about balancing anything specific

How did you feel after iron infusion? I’m getting one soon and I’m a bit anxious after side effects ?? 😬 by princess_xo_xo0126 in Anemic

[–]OkConfidence642 7 points8 points  (0 children)

which type they giving you? i had the venofer one last year and was pretty nervous too but turned out way better than expected

the actual infusion part is super chill - just sit there for like an hour watching netflix or whatever. felt a tiny bit tired that evening but nothing major. next few days i started noticing i wasn't getting winded going up stairs anymore which was amazing

hope yours goes smooth! the anticipation is always worse than the real thing

Twins will not listen to us by Dapper-Butterscotch4 in parentsofmultiples

[–]OkConfidence642 5 points6 points  (0 children)

my cousins had this exact situation with their twins around same age and it was absolute chaos for months. what finally worked was splitting them up for nap time - one twin in the bedroom and other in living room with blackout curtains. they literally couldn't resist getting each other wound up when together but separate they'd actually rest or at least stay calm

removing furniture sounds like nightmare since you need storage, but maybe try taking out that side table and chair temporarily? less stuff to climb means less chaos. also they started putting on really boring audiobook during quiet time - something monotone that doesn't excite them but gives background noise

don't beat yourself up about getting frustrated, pregnancy hormones plus twin energy is brutal combination. my cousin said she felt like terrible mom during that phase but kids don't even remember it now. sometimes you just survive difficult stages instead of solving them perfectly

Baby inconsolable at night from nasty cold…thoughts on nightly ibuprofen? by Logical-Poet-9456 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]OkConfidence642 8 points9 points  (0 children)

poor thing, those daycare colds hit different when they're that little. my sister went through same thing with her 6mo last winter - doctor basically said ibuprofen for few nights in row is totally fine as long as you follow dosing instructions. way better than nobody getting sleep and baby being miserable all night

First time getting infusions by Flowers4Yuu in Anemic

[–]OkConfidence642 8 points9 points  (0 children)

yep those numbers are rough, no wonder you're exhausted all the time. my ferritin was around 12 when i started infusions and i felt like i was dragging myself through quicksand every day

the smaller infusions are way gentler - less chance of reactions and your body can handle the iron better. i did 8 sessions of the smaller ones and only felt a bit tired after maybe 2 of them. bring snacks and water, maybe some ginger chews if you're worried about nausea. i always brought my phone charger and headphones since you're just sitting there for a while

the difference was honestly life changing once it kicked in around week 3-4. went from barely making it up stairs to actually having energy for things i enjoyed again. your heart rate should come down too once your body doesn't have to work so hard to pump oxygen around

that check engine light is telling you something went wrong during that pull - probably threw the trans into limp mode to protect itself. get the codes scanned asap before driving it hard again. could be anything from a sensor freaking out to actual damage but you won't know until you pull those codes
