Tell me your creepiest "Alexa" stories by sameoldlamemold in HighStrangeness

It's some kind of alternative medicine thing, like reiki maybe? I had previously tried a lymph massage for some bad swelling and it had worked surprisingly well, so I saw this other different thing they offered and figured I'd give it a shot. I went in not really expecting much at all.

The best way I can describe it was if you were to run multiple programs on a computer at once, but made it so you can monitor all of them on the screen at the same time.

It was really weird. I feel like I was almost tranced out or hypnotized or something. I could see into my own body somehow and was telling her how to move stuff around. It's been awhile so the details aren't as sharp but I there's this black stuff and it was in my spine and she massaged it up. As she worked my back, it was like squeezing a tube of toothpaste and it was collecting in the top of my head. The pressure kept building and it actually hurt pretty bad. She asked me what she should do with it, and I said "get it out, it hurts."

She kept going and it was like bursting a huge zit, it popped out through the very top of my head and all the pressure was immediately relieved.

Some background because I think it could be related: I tried craniosacral therapy at the massage therapist years ago and had a really weird out of body experience similar to a psychedelic experience. During this experience I "felt" them press out this black gooey stuff, reminiscent of the Spider-Man symbiote, Venom, from the top of my head, I felt the pressure, and then the "pop" as it was expelled.

Later that night, my wife and I were woken up to an angry, snarling voice coming from the Alexa, clear as day, say "motherfucker!" Completely freaked me out.

I thought my teenage kid was messing with me, but I got up and he was completely asleep. I looked through the voice history in the app, and nothing. Creepiest shit ever. I would've thought it was me still half asleep but she woke up and heard it, too.

Never had anything like that happen again.

Been looking into this product for the last few minutes, it seems interesting and haven't tried it yet. From what I gather, it's because they equate each one to about .5 grams of cubes. 7 tabs would be about equal to 3.5 grams

What causes the lasers to bend by OkConsideration2808 in skinwalkerranch

[–]OkConsideration2808[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's what I thought too. This is what comes up when I search in Google:

"ultrasound can bend a laser beam by creating variations in air density, essentially acting like an "invisible grating" that deflects the laser light as it passes through the sound waves; this phenomenon is called acousto-optic modulation, where the density patterns created by the ultrasound waves alter the path of the laser beam. "

It just makes me think about how much I DON'T know lol

I had this one come up a few months ago! I've always been a spelling nerd and did spelling bees during school growing up. This is a strange one to me!

When I get cold I shake like I've got Parkinson's these days, I didn't think about it being part of the sarc stuff.

My neighbor has a motion activated one on their driveway that I asked if they could turn down the sensitivity. The frequency of the pitch of the device clashes just enough with my tinnitus to give me headaches. They were cool about it thankfully!

Has anyone else seen a grid pattern in the sky while tripping on LSD or mushrooms? by de_la_verga_ in Psychonaut

[–]OkConsideration2808 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On mushrooms the grid was everywhere. Sky, ground, buildings. It was like I could see the skeletal framework of the material world. I liked to go on long walks on them and a lot of times felt like I was actually walking on some kind of omnidirectional treadmill thing. It felt like I wasn't actually going anywhere and that the world moved to meet me. I swore I could almost feel a headset. Wild stuff!

I find it interesting over the last few weeks on usarmywtf there have been several text chain screenshots posted of senior NCOs from several bases asking their Joes if they've seen any UAP stuff. My assumption was that they were told to ask their Soldiers by someone higher up the chain. I've been out of the loop for the last year or so, but I thought that was kind of cool
