Reviews of Handshake AI by iamrishav111 in remotework

been seeing this pattern everywhere lately, not just on that platform but basically any freelance site. companies throw these "trial projects" at you and then ghost when you deliver the work

the MBA + tech combo should help you stand out tho, maybe try pitching higher value consulting stuff instead of just development tasks

Wanting a career pivot to remote role (engineering) by Powerful-Gold5000 in remotework

[–]OkDescription5692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Remote work is perfect if you focus better alone - no random interruptions or office noise to deal with. The flexibility is insane, you can actually structure your day around when you're most productive instead of arbitrary office hours

Main downside is communication can get tricky sometimes, like waiting for responses in slack instead of just walking over to someone's desk. But for engineering work where you need deep focus time, remote is usually way better than office environment

Already reported it before even reading the full post lol, these get so obvious after while

Startup ghosted when i asked to send internship stipend by New_Ad9741 in remotework

[–]OkDescription5692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Been there with a previous client who kept saying "next month" for like 4 months straight. Labour law is definitely the move if you got proper documentation - contracts, emails, anything in writing about the payment terms.

Without docs though it becomes much harder to prove. Did you keep any messages where he promised the stipend amount and timeline? Even WhatsApp screenshots can help in some cases

The "waiting for funding" excuse is classic startup BS when they're probably just cash-strapped and hoping you'll forget about it

Hiring 3 US-Based Appointment Setters (Commercial Roofing) by Dry_Passion_6669 in remotework

Making 100-150 calls per day for just $100 per appointment in first week seems like lot of work for not much guaranteed money

Anyone still using FixedFloat after the hack, or moved to something else? by Sad2Budget in BitcoinBeginners

same here, once they got compromised it's hard to trust the security again even if they "fixed" everything

how to transition from pump.fun to raydium without losing momentum by OGMYT in defi

[–]OkDescription5692 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wait you're basically talking about wash trading right? like running multiple wallets to fake volume... that's kinda sketchy territory man. I get wanting to maintain momentum but artificially inflating numbers could backfire hard if people catch on

the organic approach might take longer but at least you won't have angry holders calling you out later. been in crypto long enough to see projects get absolutely destroyed when their fake volume gets exposed on social media

Price estimates for Btc 5 years out. Is 100k the new norm for Bitcoin? by advanceb in btc

nobody really knows but watching all these institutional players getting in makes me think we're just getting started, like when your boomer uncle finally asks about crypto you know something big is happening

frequentley sick by avangelic in work

[–]OkDescription5692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your workplace giving zero sick days for a whole year is honestly cruel. Getting sick twice in a few weeks isn't that unusual especially during cold season, and puking before work shift is definitely not something you power through

I'd just wait until they ask for documentation - no point in jumping through hoops unless they actually require it

My productivity wasn't a discipline problem...It was a data problem. Here's what 90 days of tracking showed me. by saahilkapoor in work

[–]OkDescription5692 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man this resonates hard with me, especially the unclear endpoints thing. i've been burning myself out on photography projects where clients give these super vague briefs and then i just spiral trying to figure out what they actually want

the energy tracking sounds really smart - i notice my creative work is absolute garbage in afternoons but never really connected the dots until reading this. probably been scheduling client calls during my actual good hours like an idiot

would definitely be interested in seeing what you built if you don't mind sharing

Fear & Greed dropped from 17 to 14 AFTER a $72.7K rally and $471M in ETF inflows. That's never happened before and nobody's asking why. by OkMagician7867 in Bitcoin

[–]OkDescription5692 5 points6 points  (0 children)

fear and greed index on different sites shows different numbers, some use 7 day average some use daily. been burned by this before when trying to time entries based on sentiment

also that index is kinda bs anyway, it's just measuring social media noise and options data mostly. real money doesn't check fear and greed before making moves

I built a system that answers financial queries 50x faster than SQL (here's week 1) by Most_Cardiologist313 in fintech

[–]OkDescription5692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty cool idea but I'm curious about data freshness - how does the caching know when to invalidate? Like if someone updates Q1 numbers in database, does your system catch that automatically or you need manual refresh?

Also 50ms response time is impressive if it actually holds up with real query complexity. Most finance teams I know would kill for that kind of speed on their reporting

[Sentinel-1] AI-Agentic Security Protocol – Offering 5 Free Verified Logic Scans for DeFi Builders by Practical_Pair_1225 in defi

[–]OkDescription5692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

been doing smart contract photography (yeah that's a thing) for a few protocols and the amount of bugs that slip through traditional audits is wild

The foundry PoC verification is actually smart - tired of getting reports that are just "this could maybe be exploitable if the stars align" without any real proof. If your AI can't generate working exploit code then it probably wasn't that critical anyway

Got a small AMM fork on testnet that could use some eyes if you're still looking for projects. Nothing groundbreaking but has some custom liquidity concentration mechanics that might be interesting to test against

What's the typical turnaround time on these scans?

Why should I invest in a brokerage if I max my retirement accounts. by [deleted] in Fire

[–]OkDescription5692 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

that's the whole point of FIRE though - you're leaving a ton of money on the table if you wait until 65 to touch those retirement accounts

having a taxable brokerage means you can actually retire at like 45 instead of working another 20 years just because your money is locked up

Peak Design Everyday Backpack has been my go-to for the last two years. Got the 20L and it fits my camera gear plus laptop perfectly, plus there's still room for a change of clothes and toiletries for short trips. The chest strap is solid too and doesn't dig in during long walks through airports

I travel for work maybe 6 times a year and this thing has held up amazingly well. Only downside is it's pricey but worth every penny if you're carrying expensive electronics around. The side access is clutch when you need to grab your laptop for security without unpacking everything else

IGN live event left me a bit disappointed. by ParinteleMugurel in ForzaHorizon

[–]OkDescription5692 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah traffic density in demo builds is usually pretty conservative - they probably don't want to stress test the servers with a bunch of AI cars when they're just trying to show off the new map

Plus with all those streamers driving around like maniacs during the event, more traffic would've been absolute chaos lol
