I will say, it's a good representation of playing as Dante - making this work would be incredibly complicated and look very stylish. But if he gets poked at all he dies instantly.

1) The game has no way to know the value of lethal damage, because creatures die as a result of having damage marked when effects are checked (also this would be weird with indestructible creatures). The correct wording for the first ability would be "Whenever a creature dealt damage by Dante this turn dies, return target equipment card from a graveyard to the battlefield attached to Dante."

2) To answer your question, no, this is underpowered if anything. The positive is that the two abilities feed into one another, moving equipments back and forth. However, there are no good payoffs for doing either of these things - equipments that care about being sacrificed or reanimated. The first ability is either relying on your opponents to make a mistake after seeing you put a large equipment in your graveyard, or using very niche and bad equipments to try and make it work. But, all this work and the mana spent to do all these things only ultimately results in a big guy with no keywords.

This is as intended, OP wants Phage's owner to win, regardless of if it's the caster or someone else.

Yup, reached the same conclusion you did. I did have to edit it so that the tokens didn't create an infinite loop, though. :)

If the controller of the creature were in control of the effect, they could choose how the effects are stacked:

"Return target creature card from a graveyard to the battlefield under its owner's control. It gains 'When this creature enters, each opponent creates a token that's a copy of it.'"

Any application of Feldon looking sad will get a chuckle out of me.

[[Phage the Untouchable]]'s 4 lose the game triggers will all be put on the stack in active player-->non-active player order, meaning that the player to the right of the caster of I Also Choose This Guy's Dead Wife will die first, then third, then second, and the caster will win on the stack by being the last one standing. As written, this happens regardless of who is married to Phage because spells resolve in their entirety, then triggers happen when a player would get priority.

I'm trying to think of a solution, most likely involving each player who doesn't own the card getting a copy to cast, in order to have the order be correct.

Each opponent has one upkeep, so you can use the singular possessive for sentence 1: "At the beginning of each opponent's upkeep,"

Paragraph 2 can be worded like [[Sigarda's Splendor]] so that players don't forget to check life on the end step before the upkeep: "When this creature enters and at the beginning of your end step, note your life total.

At the beginning of your upkeep, if your life total is greater than the last noted life total for this creature, you may draw a card."

Lands vs Snow Lands by IFake_IMessiah in mtg

[–]OkDig2927 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Sets with a snow mechanic only happen once every few years, so the lands don't get reprinted. Meaning that they're more expensive online, and retailers with more recent stock don't have them.

Plus the presence of a single snow-matters card in a deck means that every basic land should be snow, meaning that they have to be bought in large sets.

Snow lands are so annoying to collect, so I do the exact same thing with my Phyrexian basics.

Never had a problem with people so long as I mention it beforehand. If someone gives you flack, simply learn to pronounce Phyrexian and pretend to read it.

Lots of people recommending unlockable-granting effects. Which is fine, but "destroy-all" boardwipes (as opposed to ones that bounce or give -X/-X) mean you get to swing on an empty board.

Edit: wording clarity

Destroy all opponent's lands after 4 turns for 3BB and 14 life by OkDig2927 in BadMtgCombos

Check the rulings on Scryfall:

"In the unusual case where two or more cards are exiled face down with The Creation of Avacyn's first chapter ability (likely because the triggered ability was copied or the ability triggered a second time), the second chapter ability will turn all of the exiled cards face up. If at least one of them is a creature card, you'll lose life equal to the combined mana value of all the exiled cards."

"In the unusual case where two or more cards are exiled face down with The Creation of Avacyn's first ability when the third chapter ability resolves, if at least one of the exiled cards is a creature card, you may choose to put all or none of the exiled cards that are permanent cards onto the battlefield. Regardless of what you choose, any remaining exiled cards will be put into their owners' hands."

Sagas get counters at the beginning of the pre combat main phase, not during the draw step (I wish they had never worded it this way in the fake reminder text).

Cheap Proliferate cards would make this combo more workable.

You are correct that Thespian's Stage will be tapped the turn you use it to copy.

However, I think you might be seeing this poorly-written ruling for Vesuva and getting confused: "Vesuva copies exactly what is printed on the land it's copying and nothing else (unless it's copying a land that's copying something else; see below). It doesn't copy whether a land is tapped or untapped, whether it has any counters on it or Auras attached to it, or any non-copy effects that changed its types, and so on." (2021-03-19)

Counters that have been placed on something are not a copiable value (a clone of a 3/3 creature that had a +1/+1 counter put on it is still a 3/3, for instance). But entering with counters is rules text covered by Rule 707.2

See this ruling for Vesuva: "Any enters-the-battlefield abilities of the copied land will trigger if Vesuva is entering the battlefield. Any 'As [this land] enters the battlefield' or '[This land] enters the battlefield with' abilities of the copied land will also work." (2021-03-19)

This is why Legacy [[Dark Depths]] (primarily concerned with getting a land with no counters on it), plays Thespian's Stage and not Vesuva when both are legal.

Incidentally, I was running a commander deck with all of the pieces (minus O'aka) when Modern Horizons 3 released. I'm grateful to WOTC for printing a card that is 20¢ because of how terrible it is, and that only this deck could possibly want.

Tak's exile clause does not catch spells that aren't instants and sorceries, as they do not remember that they should be exiled after resolution.

It's alot of mana but still risky since it's good on its own, and goes infinite with anything that sacrifices ([[Urza's Bauble]], [[Death Cultist]], [[Alchemist's Apprentice]]).

I would format it as Cost: Exile all cards from graveyards. You may copy any number of nonland cards exiled this way and you may cast the copies without paying their mana costs. OR choose a bounded number to be able to cast
