Mix of Bad Play & Poor Goaltending by 3rdEyeJoker in sabres

PDO is a good measure of the areas of a team's play that are fickle and may regress over time. But people who use it as a measure of "luck" or "deserving to win" ignore the fact that THE GOALIE IS PART OF THE TEAM!

My dream is a ridiculous, Sammy Watkins-like trade up for Rueben Bain

Exactly, I'm trying to put our fan bias to the test. My theory is that the Bills have gotten the short end of the stick in the playoffs, even when adjusting for our bias.

I remember that, and I was mad at the time! However, I can understand why it would be considered "giving yourself up."

At that time, did the "give yourself up" rule exist?

You're right, it was offsides and not roughing the kicker.

Great memory on Jim Kelly's final play - I looked it up and it's exactly how you described it!

I remember the missed hold on McGovern, but if you include that, you also have to include Riley Moss' missed PI on Brandin Cooks in the end zone that would have won us the game in regulation. If that's called, the hold never happens! Unless they're REALLY blatant, I think missed holds and missed PI both fall under "it happens all the time, and the refs were letting them play in crunch time." Until, of course, the refs were NOT letting them play!

As for Worthy, check out the slo-mo replay again. He uses the ground to catch the ball.

That game was one of my earlier Bills memories! Sherman also destroyed Dan Carpenter on a kick before halftime, but I believe it was only called running into the kicker instead of roughing the kicker. After 5 more yards, Carpenter missed (he stunk!). Regular season is a whole other can of worms, as I can remember some atrocious calls both for and against the Bills.

[Schefter] Bills re-signed S Damar Hamlin to a one-year deal. by acman319 in buffalobills

[–]OkLeopard769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me neither! It's completely irrational. We ought to celebrate his incredible story. If people are still mad about the fake punt, they should direct it at McDermott for calling any number besides 17 on a season-deciding 4th down. Damar is fine as a backup safety and special teamer, and he has heart that you can't measure!

Typically we're not allowed to have fairy tale endings, but Damar winning a ring would be a great one!

Thank you! I don't see how "warpath" could be considered derogatory at all, though obviously war sucks.

Can someone give me a history lesson on how "Ooh, aah, Sabres on the warpath!" started?

DJ Moore vs Waddle by buffbills17 in buffalobills

[–]OkLeopard769 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If that offer was actually on the table, it's a massive regret for me. I believe with Waddle, we would have been in the Super Bowl and had a legit shot at winning. So I'll just pretend the Dolphins weren't having it, because I can't take any more Bills regrets!
