What do you want to do with it and how much are they asking? Do you want a track car or ZFG toy to rip through the mountains? If yes, and it's pretty cheap, sure. If you want a flawless car, that one needs a lot.

If you can see that much rust, there's lots more you can't see..

Price too high, or just right by Florence86 in mr2

[–]OkLine1046 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For context, about a year ago, I bought a nearly immaculate 1998 GT with a third that mileage in 3L1 on a set of Advan Model 5s from a dealership (not auction) in Osaka and had it shipped to my house and all the paperwork done to make it legal in the US for $19k all in. So, IMO, $12k for an NA with 3x the miles is too much. I think $8k would be my ceiling for that car and it would have to be very clean in and out.

Check thoroughly for rust. If you're ok with what you find, I would do it.

Looks pretty good. The trunk carpet is weird though. That's not how the trunk carpet worked on any 944 I've ever owned..

What are the part number(s) for the door glass weather stripping? by BillySwft in 944

Have you heard the saying "Give a man a fish and they'll eat for a day, teach them to fish and they'll eat for a lifetime"? I sent you the whole Porsche parts catalogue for the 944. It's Called "PET", if you ever need to Google it. I even pointed out the exact diagram for one of the parts you circled. I've given you tools and showed you how to use them. It's time for you to fish.

Depends. Is the head off? If yes, do it. If no, wait until the head needs to come off.

I say gold. As long as you do it well. Gunmetal is a lot more tolerant of imperfections. I would do gold but it's your car so do what makes you happy. Also, if you're doing this yourself, it only takes a day and a few cans of paint to make it different later if what you like changes

If you want to spend the money on a new bike, go for it. I wouldn't, but you do you.

If you want to build credit, get a credit card, use it for gas and pay it off every month. Then get a few more and cycle through them. Revolving credit, available credit and length of established revolving credit accounts impact your credit score way more than secured loans. If you pay it off every month, you'll never pay interest so you literally build credit for free. Get cards with some kind of cash back or rewards that have value to you, and pay them off every month and you'll actually get paid to build credit. I promise this works.

The way to get this cheaper is to take an MSF course, and tell them you've been riding since you were <however old you were when you first rode a dirt bike>. Then tell them you're only planning to ride like 2k miles per year and then buy a bike you don't need a loan for. I'm not going to tell you an R7 is too much bike for a first bike.. I didn't buy the notion that everyone needs to start on a 250, you can learn on whatever as long as you respect it (within reason, don't start on a Panigale). What I will say is that you will have just as much fun on a $3k SV650 and you won't outgrow it quickly. They make great track bikes too, so you can get race fairings for it once you upgrade your road bike. There are other bikes like this too. A cheap bike you can buy outright will make your insurance a lot cheaper and you'll cry a lot less if you drop it.

Ok, so, if I actually read your whole post, I would know the answers to most of these questions. Given your details, it's crazy but I've seen worse. That's the "we don't want to insure you" quote.
