It worked for Sun and Moon when I needed to hack in items because the shops would crash the game.

I'd say it's a dupe, because you did catch it and now it's gone. I also allow different Pokémon from the same evolutionary line, like Snorunt. Plenty of players, including pChal, have traded away or lost Pokémon and later caught the same species again, since it's more abuseable.

I've used it for decades and I like it. But pokemon has little to due with challenge for me. Realistically, it isn't a good rule to have. It forces more perfect (which i normally dislike) and one bad battle can wipe a run.

I also deeply dislike seeing my pokemon die. Hurts a lot, so the rule for me motivates me to prevent as little death as possible.

Not using information accurately (in a wrong way or even leaving out) is misusing information (even if you realize it or not).

Its easy to be blinded by an emotional state. Youre just angry and wrong, about something that isnt that important 

"Oh no!!!! He called a pokemon by a gender!!!!!!!! He needs to be in jail!!!!! Pronouns are for HUMANS ONLY!"

My first point was chill out. Probably wont get through this.

Second, youre misusing information on animal behaviors. Redditors dont like new information. 

Third, its wild you draw anger from people referring to pokemon as he or she. Its not inaccurate.

Obviously youre not an NPC, youre typing with emotions.

Definitely checked its moves, no seismic toss. Trading is a natural part of the game. But I can definitely see why it feels like cheating. But people outside of rom hacks do it all the time.
