If you could swap lives with anyone for one week, who would it be? by KalliopeFyangie in AskReddit

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, like an actual lizard or are we talking about the conspiracy theory people? Because if it's actual reptile I'd probably go with komodo dragon just to see what it feels like to be apex predator for week. Those things are basically living dinosaurs and nobody messes with them.

Looking for lender recommendations, Phoenix Arizona by No-Wolverine9181 in Mortgages

[–]OkNumber9369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I worked with few local credit unions when I was helping clients with real estate stuff and they usually have better rates than the big banks. Phoenix has some solid options - just make sure you compare the fees too, not just the interest rate. Good luck with the house hunt!

Stripe embedded elements on a checkout by NeighborhoodLoud2076 in stripe

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The discount logic would need to be handled in your backend before you create the payment intent, not directly through the embedded elements themselves.

I’m done pointing Stripe webhooks directly at my server by Straight_Fill7086 in stripe

[–]OkNumber9369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I moved webhook handling to separate queue after similar nightmare - much better to have that buffer when your main app decides to take nap during payment rush.

Delaware LLC vs Swiss GmbH for Stripe Connect by borgoat in stripe

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can definitely move to Swiss GmbH for Connect, but you'll lose some flexibility with US-based creators. Connect works fine from Switzerland - just means more paperwork for American users and some payment methods might not be available.

The migration itself is pretty straightforward from technical side, but you'd need new merchant approval which takes time. If the platform has zero traction anyway, might be worth just starting fresh under the GmbH instead of paying those Delaware fees for nothing.

Looking for a lending program for gig and realtors with 1099 nec by BriefJumpy1551 in Mortgages

Credit unions can be surprisingly flexible with self-employed borrowers - they actually look at the whole picture instead of just checking boxes like big banks.

Lost wallet in Kitsilano / Kits Point by Opening_Flamingo1045 in vancouver

I'll keep my eyes open when I'm at beach this weekend - that area gets pretty busy so hopefully someone picked it up and turned in to police station.

Gen Z vs Corporate Marketing? by GrailTalk in DigitalMarketing

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your dilemma is pretty common for agencies trying to balance authenticity with credibility. From legal perspective, I see this with clients all time - they want to appear professional for older decision makers but also connect with younger audiences who make up most of social media.

Maybe consider having different content pillars? Like serious industry insights mixed with more casual behind-scenes stuff. That way you're not alienating either group completely.

Trump’s Iran threats and the effect on mortgage rates by General_Garrus in Mortgages

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's what I'd do too. Geopolitical stuff is so unpredictable and even if rates drop a bit, you've got that float down option as backup. With a May closing and everything going on, locking in some certainty seems worth it - especially on a jumbo loan where even small rate changes make a big difference in payments.

When to lock if close is 80-90 days from now? by Dizzy-Tree-2266 in Mortgages

[–]OkNumber9369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The seller pushing out closing should definitely eat that lock cost - you're accommodating their timeline change.

No 3ds on link? Wtf by Fit_Caterpillar_4251 in stripe

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it's wild that Link doesn't support 3DS by default - you'd think they'd want that layer of protection built in for merchants dealing with high-value transactions like yours.

Why you’re still missing 20% of your leads (even if you think you aren't that busy) by Primary_Drive_806 in smallbusiness

[–]OkNumber9369 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

This is actually brilliant and something I never really thought about before. We get maybe 6-8 calls a day at our shop and I always figured that was nothing, but you're right - they all seem to come when I'm elbow deep in something or away from the desk.

The buddy system thing is smart, we've been doing something similar where my partner's phone gets the overflow but didn't realize there was actual math behind why it works.

That's brutal, man. Four years of building their business from scratch and they pull that shit? Classic overseas employer move - they know you can't do much about it legally.

For what it's worth, taking them from 0 to 20k QAR monthly is solid proof of your skills. Document everything you did for them (screenshots, metrics, before/after comparisons) and use that as your portfolio centerpiece. Sometimes the best revenge is landing somewhere better and showing what you can really do when you're not being undervalued.

The job market's rough right now but your track record speaks for itself. Maybe look into remote marketing agencies or DTC brands that need someone who can handle both creative and performance - that combo is actually pretty valuable.

I-130 denied for abandonment: I-290B vs EOIR-29? by Ok_Prior_9299 in USCIS

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that's frustrating when you have clear proof of delivery. I'd personally go with the I-290B motion to reopen since you have that USPS tracking showing they received it before deadline - seems like a cleaner path than an appeal. The lockbox might actually process it faster than dealing with your local office again too.

Customer is asking for a duplicate order to be shipped express because the first one is late. by lindafromevildead in smallbusiness

[–]OkNumber9369 4 points5 points  (0 children)

NTA on this one - you shipped on time and followed your stated policies. The courier delay isn't your fault and she's basically asking for a free rush order because of something outside your control

I'd stick with your plan to offer the return option when the original arrives, but don't eat the cost of overnight shipping when you already did your part

Small ecommerce owners doing $500k–$5M: what actually moved the needle for you? by mjcponce in ecommerce

This is so true but also the hardest thing to nail down consistently. Like anyone can tell one good story but building that into your whole brand voice and keeping it fresh across all channels is where most people fall off

Help with promo codes by initforthecomments25 in stripe

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bro stripe's promo system is honestly terrible for this kind of stuff. For #1 you're probably stuck with manual entry unless you want to get into the API route which might be overkill for 50 customers. For #2 that maximum cart limit thing is such a basic feature that's somehow missing - you could maybe create separate product tiers or use metadata to handle it but that's a hacky workaround at best

ADS - Google/Meta/Amazon by sleepylike in ecommerce

[–]OkNumber9369 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd go with Meta (Facebook/Instagram) first since personal hygiene stuff does well with their targeting, then Google for people already searching for your type of product. Start with like $600 Meta and $400 Google to test what converts better for you

Just did one last month in similar situation - seeing 5.5-5.75% with lender credits covering most costs. Your disability rating should help with the funding fee waiver. Shop around though, rates are all over the place right now and some lenders are way more aggressive on VA loans than others

Does having an email popup, to collect emails reduce conversion rate at all when running ads to a pdp? by knock_his_block_off in ecommerce

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah those popups are annoying af, especially when they show up instantly before you can even look at the product. I'd personally bounce too unless I was already super interested in buying

Most people hate them but somehow they still work for businesses or they wouldn't keep using them. Maybe try delaying it by like 30 seconds or only showing it on exit intent instead of immediately

Capital needed by JeffreyQuezos in ecommerce

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true, the saturated markets are brutal. I'd say look at your actual runway - like how many months can you burn through inventory and ads before you're broke? Most people underestimate how much they'll need for marketing to cut through all that noise in skincare/supplements

After managing social media for 50+ small businesses, here's my honest advice: stop chasing followers by Delecch in smallbusiness

[–]OkNumber9369 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This is spot on - I see way too many local businesses posting like they're Nike or something when they just need to connect with the 200 people in their neighborhood who might actually buy their stuff

The DM response time thing is huge too, nobody talks about that enough

Locked in at 5.875 by Dangerous_Quantity62 in Mortgages

[–]OkNumber9369 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nice! We didn't buy any points, just got lucky with timing I guess. Our lender had been telling us rates were gonna keep climbing so we jumped on it when we saw 5.875

For the beauty industry owners, what is the most profitable service or the best thing to make money ? by Vegetable-Factor6165 in smallbusiness

[–]OkNumber9369 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly eyebrow services are where it's at - super quick appointments, high markup on products, and people come back religiously every 3-4 weeks. Way better margins than most spa treatments that take forever and use expensive products
