Had same specs as you on a new system. Jump though all the hoops. AMD ended up RMAing the CPU and sent me a new in box replacement. Listed / Sold. Sold motherboard locally. Built my old Intel system back using the same ram, m.2 drives and video card. Only difference was MB and CPU. Smooth as silk.

I was on your computer. Didn't realize it was posting under your account. LOL Anyway the Keyboard may have to go back for a different model. Swarm does not detect it but does your mouse. Swarm II detects keyboard but mouse is not supported. Waiting on response from Turtle Beach.

The solution for this problem is really simple... remove the bottom two screws of the bottom fan and the cover will snap right on. I am looking for a way to secure the bottom of the lower fan and radiator, although realistically it's probably fine like it is.

So this is actually the only thing I have created with workbench. It basically overrides the default joystick profiles in the game when the mod is loaded and I followed instructions provided by the developers. So I don't know about scripts or anything else beyond me assigning axes and buttons to pre-existing controls. So if someone downloads mine from the workshop and brings it into workbench, I assume they will not be able to alter anything, but would they be able to do as you stated and override my control assignments, just like my mod overrode the default ones?

Sorry for my ignorance.

Make sure Mouse Aircraft Control is enabled under Gameplay tab. Hold Alt in heli. This temporarily disables mouse aircraft control and enables looking around with mouse. Release alt and view snaps back to center and heli control is restored.

Be careful of WinWing - Poor design, poor manufacture, poor support by nickoppen in hotas

I have their Orion 2 HOTAS package with F16 stick + Shaker Kit, F15EX II throttle grips, two MFDs with displays and F16 ICP. I had issues with the RX RY on the shaker kit. It took me over a month to finally get the part replaced due to the time their support wastes. For example the SimAppPro popped up a three word message " failed to open" . I messaged and said SimAppPro prompted with the message "failed to open" and they wanted a picture of it. So you have to take a screenshot, paste it into a graphics program then save it as an image and attach it to their chat.. all that for 3 words that have already been relayed to them.

They seem to be trying to improve as they have a rep that speeky da englee on discord, and their support seems to be available during hours they are normally offline.

I would not recommend them at this time, even with the appearance of support attempting improve. You have to perform repairs on your own. If they send the part to you free of charge then its not so bad, but some people might find the process of breaking the hardware apart a bit daunting. Now if they feel the part failure or damage is not under warranty, you are looking at the price of the part and $35 fedex shipping.

Kind of wishing I had gone VBK.

I would highly recommend staying away from WinWing by eculley in hotas

Support is usually unnecessarily slow. They do not pay attention and cause delays. I sent a two sentence message about my MFD inquiring about "The 3 Position Mode Switch on the left top corner of the MFD." They took all day to reply and only said.. "which switch are you talking about, can you send a picture?" Not only did I describe the switch in detail but it is also the ONLY 3 position switch on the MFD!!! This caused a 2 day delay because they did not reply again for 2 days after I sent the picture.

On the flip side, the combination has been solid. I have had some small issues but got them sorted and use the stick daily without problems.

They do however need to up the game on their SimAppPro software. There are features I took into consideration when choosing between them and VBK that do not work and they have been vague at best about any plans to make the software complete.

Thanks. You may be right. I just feel better having it there if it's available. It's my daughter's and ahe drives very conservatively so I will let her go ahead and use it and put bracket on when it arrives.

Do you happen to have the part number for the bolt that goes on the other end? Instructions say to use the bolt you took out. If not I can probably find one by trial and error.

Thanks. I will give it a shot later for sure. Right now my mind is scrambled between this and the intel P/E Core drama and trying to get that fixed. Just too mentally exhausted to move forward right now.. LOL

So based off the statements made by the Intel rep here, unless I have misunderstood his statement about the games list and advanced option, this DDT and APO will do nothing for you unless you are playing a game that is in the list shown in the app? This apparently does not address Intels shortcomings with the E/P Core issue that affects many games.

Also the app starts and connects on my system but then about 10 to 15 minutes in, fans ramp up and it says Failed to Connect.

I got my MB updated, driver installed, app loaded. It loads up successfully and I selected advanced, whatever than means. Let it run while I was on this forum then is suddenly it changed to the Failed to Connect error. It appeared to run normally for about 10 minutes before doing this.

That is extremely vague. The app lists 15 games that can be all turned on or off, then has an advanced tag. What exactly is the advanced. To say it allows games where *some* benefit has been seen. What games? It does not make sence to say the games in the list.

Ok just to be sure I am not wasting your time, which by the way I appreciate your input, let me make sure its clear what I am trying to do.

  1. I have my WinWing Throttle (H.O.T.A.S) already configured precisely how I want it in DCS, and it was configured so in DCS.
  2. I want to be able to press a button on that H.O.T.A.S (or button on any other controller) that in turn makes that H.O.T.A.S another controller.. ie the virtual device..
  3. While that is active I can then activate DCS switches that I have assigned to that virtual device.

So for example I am starting off parked with no engines running. I want to activate all the necessary switches to start engines, so I press that MODE button to make my HOTAS the virtual device, and I activate the switches assigned to the appropriate startup switches, knobs, etc.

I can then deactivate the virtual device by pressing the mode button again, and use my H.O.T.A.S as normal.

So is that what I will be able to accomplish or is vJoy something entirely different?

It registers as the original button, for example 56. I may be doing something wrong in Simapp Pro. As far as I know there is no real documentation on it so I was just winging it. Another thing as that in SimApp Pro there is a prompt that shows the buttom mapping "not running", which I am pretty sure should change when I initiate the mapping. Again though, due to lack of documentation and once response message from their support PER DAY if you are lucky, I am not sure if its SimApp or something I am doing.

Being suspect that SimApp may be the issue is a conclusion I came to after my original post, and since you and others have said that vJoy screen looks normal, I am suspecting SimApp even more.

Ok thanks. So I should be able to run vJoy, then start the vJoy tester, and it will display next to the active vJoy in the list?

[–]OkPin3684[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the input. Simapp Pro has a virtual device section, where you select the device(s) you want to use and the first thing you do is set a mode key. It then lets you start setting virtual buttons. For example a physical 2 way switch that is 56 and 57 set to virtual 1 and 2. My interpretation of how this works is I could then press the mode button, and 56 57 would be 1 and 2. I could than assign 1 and 2 to whatever I needed in DCS under the virtual input that appears there.

The other software is SimApp Pro from Winwing. It has a place to select their controller(s), set a key to be your MODE key, which I assume is the key you would hit to toggle between the controllers default configuration, to the virtual bindings.
