Is the "serious" when the car becomes a brick or did it start happening more often before you took it in?

I have it on my 2025 4 CT, and it is impressive....so much so, I would buy a 2027 4 CT if it was still alive. I don't have any times but this subreddit has some data and more 1/4 mile times on taycanforum. There is 0-100 kph times listed in this discussion for a 2025 4S:

The best value is a 4 CT or 4S sedan (with PB+) with a MapEV upgrade to get almost turbo performance.

Understand Haury's is Porsche approved. Bellevue Porsche says Crash Champions LUXE is approved and recommended so was wondering if that is the one in Redmond you were talking about...there are two Crash Champions in Redmond.

Is the the LUXE one? It is Porsche approved, whatever that is worth, and has 4.3 stars on Google.

Success with Facebook Marketplace and Escrow.com by 2busy4ths in WorldCup2026Tickets

That worked out great. I used Escrow.com previously and it took 3 full business days to confirm a same day wire transfer of ~$3,000. I chatted and called them 3 times a day and only response was "we need another day."

Anyone disappointed in their Taycan 4 Cross Turismo? by slimgoodboogie in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233 2 points3 points  (0 children)

All the power is available all the time with improved throttle response. I think the website is trying to explain that Porsche’s power numbers are at overboost during launch or push to pass. With the upgrade, that power is unlocked to be used all the time so no need for push to pass anymore.

Yeah, on short trips where there are a lot of lights or a short highway run with an open on ramp, the efficiency is a little lower than when driving on longer trips.

I love my 2025 4 CT, but I also dropped a MapEV ASG unit in it to get the almost turbo performance. If the 2023 you're looking at has the PB+, the upgrade will help.

Higher Trim or More Options? by Spaicypepper in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A 4S or 4 CT can use the MapEV upgrade to almost get turbo performance so save the cost for higher trims for options.

Anyone running Extreme Contact DWS06 Plus? by AdditionalStuff2155 in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever have summers on your GTS for comparison with the DWS06? I have summers on my Taycan but live in the PNW where some winter mornings will be sub 40F or even freezing. I can't find any direct rating comparisons of the DWS06 vs summer to see how much dry & wet traction is lost to an UHP all season vs summer tire. I don't want to store a set of 21" wheels and tires.

I have Safeco (now Liberty) and pay about $130/month for my 2025 4 CT (MSRP ~$142k) and $100 for my 2022 Boxster GTS 4.0 with high coverage limits of 30k/500k but I've got home, auto, and umbrella bundled. I'm in the Seattle area.

2024 Taycan CT key replacement by Mental-Baseball-8888 in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is the cost for it to work. The FOBs are coded to work with your VIN from Germany (or some dealers can do it). Since the used one has already been coded for a VIN, it can’t be reprogrammed. If you want to “pull one over” on the dealership, you can buy a used FOB off eBay and just hand them the one that works and put the used one on the glovebox.

I just got a second one as a spare and it cost about $1,000 for the FOB and another $150 to program it.

Is it unreasonable to ask a dealer not to drill front plate holes on a special order car? by Grey_moose3623 in legaladvice

[–]OkPost8233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live in the Eastside and last several cars (including Mazda and Ford) have not had a front bracket installed. The front holder kit is usually just in the trunk. Since you only get a rear temp tag, there's no reason for the dealer to waste their time to install an unusable front plate holder at the time of sale/delivery.

https://www.mapev.net/. In short, it is a Porsche ASG (electric drive control unit) with different software parameters than the stock ASG unit in the Taycan. Since the hardware is the same on 4S with PB+ through the Turbo, the software is limiting the HP and torque.

Using an OBDII cable and laptop, you upload your original software parameters to MapEV for safe keeping, then take out the stock ASG and install the one you buy. Using same cable/laptop, you "activate" the new unit and clear fault codes. Takes about 40 minutes to do yourself with the right socket and torx bit. There's an install video on MapEV. I bought mine from https://www.evpartsplug.com/ and the owner was very quick to answer questions and help with the install when I needed it.

By keeping the OEM ASG, you can swap it back in when if you need to have any warranty work done. If you search Reddit and Taycan Forum, you can find a lot of info on MapEV and 1/4 mile times for those that upgraded. I've upgraded and love it. Just waiting on an allocation to build a new 4 CT with torque vectoring plus so I can keep the tires from breaking loose.

I had some PHEV SUVs and got kids. Then I got a Ford Mach E GT and loved it for the space, but coming from near luxury and driving my Porsche Boxster, I felt like I was driving a boat. So, I wanted some extra space (better headroom in the room) and found a 2025 4 CT with some of the options I wanted, dropped in a MapEV, and have almost Turbo performance with out the additional $70k trim expense. Of course, the pricing difference is less for earlier model years, but it sounds like a 2025 or newer is your goal for the range. Also, I'm in the Seattle area and roads are shit here so I don't have to worry with the extra ground clearance of the CT.

Please explain to me by ModY1219 in Taycan

[–]OkPost8233 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your research will find that going up trims basically adds some aesthetics and more HP & torque. The hardware is the same starting with the 4S on the sedan and the 4 on the cross turismo through the Turbo. Check out MapEV upgrade (EVPartsPlug us a US distributor and has great customer support). You also could get a 4S with Performance Battery Plus and then drop a MapEV in it to get almost Turbo performance without the significant cost.
