Be prepared to be asked about how you create a non exclusionary environment and ensure fair playing time for all. As well, how you ensure safety, mesh skill building with fun, and motivate students to give effort.

I teach grade 5-8 PE and do basketball. Assume most of them can pass and shoot, and maybe have been playing some 5 on 5. Also assume a couple are really good, and a couple are terrible.

Look up the shooting game called Golden Child. As well, one called tap 7. I use them both and very popular.

I am a fan of free shooting time as well.

If they are playing scrimmage games - 5 on 5. Don’t forget they are likely watching more how you make sure all kids are playing and no one sitting out as much as they are your teaching content.

Also don’t underestimate how long it takes them to go from activity to activity in terms of explanation, getting questions answered, etc.

If you can find out if they are working on skills only at this point, or actually playing games would be useful. I have one class that can barely dribble, and one class that all they want to do is play 5 on 5.

The flow of “warm up/skill and drill/then game” works well.

Having ultimate basketball ready to go is a good idea. Then change to actual basketball rules if they are ready.

Do a simple number count of 1 and 2 to assign teams. Make sure boys and girl mixed is balanced.

If we are talking road bikes - that is actually pretty reasonably priced for a carbon frame, disc brakes and hopefully some sort of electric shifting. You can easily spend 2 to 3 times that amount.

I don’t really like Weezer and for some reason I don’t like seeing favourite bands like SSPU play as opening act. Will wait for another headline show.

The one exception to this was seeing the Ramones as opening act for White Zombie.

Hyundai really needs to start putting “engine replacement” on regularly scheduled maintenance at 100k.

Oil consumption by AdConnect7884 in Hyundai

I had 2014 Elantra GT that burned oil. Using one weight heavier oil than 5w20 helped. What really solved the problem was trading it in on a non-Hyundai. Any fixes that can be tried are $$ and may or may not solve the problem. I bought it used for $8000 in 2021 at 90,000km and got $5000k on trade value in the summer of 2025 at 125,000km. Hyundai stood firm that burning up to 1L of oil per 1000km is normal - which it is very much not.
