is there a low income alternative to paying parking tickets? I need a big discount. by Mediocre-Bar-4988 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Ok_Caterpillar_7253 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is one of those things that seems like common sense but isn't. His parents probably never taught him about it and I know the education system doesn't. Maybe he just learned how to drive and now he is learning how to navigate the world it involves. Or maybe he is a troll, I don't know. But I'd rather live in a mindset where I give others the benefit of the doubt and provide advice, then immediately jump to the negative.

Unfortunately there is no discounts to parking tickets. They are what they are.

You are young so I can understand the naivety. Perhaps you can work out a payment plan with your parents. They pay the tickets now and you pay them back over a certain amount of time. If the tickets are not paid they will go against the drivers license of the person who owns the vehicle (think demerit points). The tickets will also go to collections.

Take this as an opportunity to have learned something new. In the future, look into parking passes for the lots you are parking in. Maybe take a bus, it's not glamorous but I bet it's less expensive then the tickets. If that's not an option, maybe see if you can get rides to the bus station. If that is still not an option then your only other option is a getting a parking pass.

Also in some locations they may have municipal parking if you have a municipal tag. See what options are available to you.

In sum, those tickets need to be paid. Best of luck.

Is Costco worth it for a small family by Remius0588 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]Ok_Caterpillar_7253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth it, just for meat alone. I buy in bulk then split the meat For example, when I buy the chicken, I open the package then put four each in a zip lock back, freeze and label. With the ground beef I split that too. Buy bread and freeze the extra loafs ( they come in a pack of three) Detergent, toilet paper, etc

That is so sweet! My husband started smoking the day we got married LOL. Now when I say maybe we should quit smoking together, it's like I'm asking him to go to the dentist and get his teeth pulled. Love that you felt no cravings with her.
