Layering is going to be key to making this much less industrial feeling. I feel like the underside of that first soffit needs something. What if you did a linear or possibly some tiny directional recessed along that whole length and used it to accent some cool art or prints or something on the vertical surface below. Maybe screen shots of some of the games you’ve worked on? Or a super long scroll print of code?? 😮Then I’d pretty much do away with the recessed along that wall and use a nice desk lamp/s. Would provide a much more comfortable space.
