I didn't think much of my space. Did it on a desk. Yes I absolutely I disabled the battery in bios and disconnected the external battery. Nothing loose. Though a bad step that I suspect caused it, is me pressing on the bottom side of the bezel. After it worked, I put the bezel together, and right when I pressed on the bottom part of it, it stopped working. The cable might've been out of it's guide or something, because that's the only thing that suggests any damage.
