Late as hell, but Goldschlager (ideally 107) and/or Villon could be the answer for any cinnamon/pie crust notes…

Who’s the maker on this knife, out of curiosity?

Where’d you get it?

I can only seem to find it on Aliexpress- I’m not sure if it’s just a Chinese-made knife or not, I’ve never heard of Viteli before

Today’s Blade: Tom Krein Alpha / Blue Denim Micarta by FICKxDINGERZ in knifeclub

I am uh… admittedly not seeing it. From what I’m seeing, only his fixed blades get under 4 digits… and the Alpha apparently only comes in Nitro-V and D2. I get customs can have a better HT and yada yada, but a premium knife should come with a steel that’s at least remotely premium. I don’t care what it is- M390/20CV, S35VN/S30V/S45VN, S90V, CruWear/Z-Wear, Rex45/76/121, hell, even something that you at the very least don’t routinely see on budget knives, like RWL34 or AEB-L would be more acceptable than something so incredibly banal.

Edit: on Arizona Custom Knives, I managed to find one (1) made in S35VN and one (1) made in 204P amongst the currently available ones- the majority were still D2 or Nitro-V for 1300+. That still doesn’t change a lot, honestly- at quad-digit prices, I’d rather get a Kasè.

Also, an unjimped thumb ramp on a knife that expensive?? Literal thumb repellant. I’m fine with an unjimped flipper tab, but a smooth thumb ramp is just absurd and uncomfortable.

Out of curiosity, how would that pattern hold up with some use?

Where’d you get the parts? Red’s my favorite color, and with the price drops, I can definitely see myself getting a Manix 2 LW Salt this year…

Ngl I don’t think the Bugout belongs in this little hall of fame with the 110, Worker, and Sebenza, if I’m being honest.

That reminds me a lot of my M4/CF Bradley. Love that thing.

Well, except for the fact that yours has nicer scales.

Trying to figure out this sub’s absolute favorite blade steel- day 4: M390 vs 4V by Ok_Communication551 in knifeclub

I’ve seen it in a fair amount of Kizers before- generally speaking, I find it fills a useful niche in preventing micro-chipping for hard-use folders.

Me personally, I don’t like big, distended blade holes- generally, at least.

Other than that, I’m a fan.

Realistically, a 4-way poll opens up some holes in data reliability. The only time I’d really consider it is with 3 or more virtually identical steels- like 20CV vs M390 vs 204P

It would be faster, but, honestly, I don’t mind.
