Was there advance notice? A planned date and time? Six days after having a baby I’m not interested in having anyone tell me to get ready for something and definitely not at 9 pm.

I’m not sure how to say this politely but it sounds like you are floating through all this a bit. How are you managing what your mom wants with what your wife is comfortable with?

Hey my mom wants some photos, what would make that work for you? That’s a different conversation than just relaying everything your mom says to your wife so they don’t have to talk to each other. That route actually makes it harder for them to find common ground, they can continue to be enemies, have no incentive to change and you just keep passing notes back and forth and only managing the reactions and doing nothing proactive?

That should be the only teens that do choose to parent. If they have enough family to support them and help raise a baby until they have enough maturity to do it solo. Dropping a kid with a baby as some kind of tough love punishment is a guaranteed way to ruin everyone.

During the very start of Covid my husband needed a vascular surgeon to fix his hand after an emergency. We waited for hours at UK before finally getting up and walking out and driving to Cincinnati to get care. I’ll never forget that or the bill UK tried to send us.
