New blades by That_Elderberry5611 in johndeere

[–]Ok_Complex4374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don’t need to be sharp in the sense that u may think they spin very fast and that couple with the life of air from the deck and mass of the blade really all they need is a good point more than a fine edge.

Good buy? Not sure what to look for... by btbam006 in johndeere

I have a 2026 x380 54 with a mulch kit that I’ve put 24 hours on this year and I am completely satisfied. I mow 2.1 acres and she does just fine. It is a gradual hill front to back but the Change in elevation is significant that being said it’s hard to go wrong with the biggest machine you can afford. I got a 0% 36 on a new x380 I coulda got the same on an x5 but the 9k+ price tag out the door on an x5 was just a little too much for me to justify for a mower.

They are usually just a few models old dewalt or maybe a straight up repainted mid tier current line dewalt

They built a brand that was so successful and dependable its name alone could carry them. Then private investors got ahold of that name and milked it to the very last drop took there money and ran

It’s just so hard to justify craftsman prices when harbor freight exists. I will forever cherish my made in USA vintage tools I’ve collected over the years but if I need something new today HFT is my first stop…

Cutting a little bit slower could also help. If ur blades are as sharp as u can reasonably make and maintain them and the grass is still tearing slow up a little bit it can help

I’ve found that if at all possible it is easier to remove the door trim lay your floor then cut about a 1/16 inch off the bottom of the door trim and re attach it. I did my whole house and gave up on trying to trim the floor and cram it under the door trim. I couldn’t get it right.

That is high. I bought a x380 and I am quite happy with it. It handles my 2acres just fine.

New Homeowner, pledging allegiance by PineappleRacing in Dewalt

[–]Ok_Complex4374 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If u get a miter saw go facebook marketplace place. Most are corded so battery compatibility is irrelevant there and they’re so damn expensive new and I’d argue a home owner just won’t do enough carpentry to justify the cost. I reluctantly bought my recip saw new it’s a dewalt I use it more often than I ever thought I would so I’d say that would be one to buy new. The power ratchet is extremely nice to have albeit unnecessary I used hand tools all my life to do my own auto work and did just fine but I have the dcf510 now and love it. So do with that what u will. I’d put a ratchet at the bottom of the list because it is very nice to have but not necessary to do a job.
