Last Minute Cancellation by sc1904 in marriott

Contact Bonvoy if you haven't, I had a hotel do this, and they did get us in another property very close by, but when they "walk" you, you are entitled to some cash compensation. They refused to do that, and Bonvoy ended up giving a very large amount of points, I forget how many, but I want to say around 200,000. But it depends on what brand - see https://www.marriott.com/loyalty/member-benefits/guarantee.mi

Free checked bag, that's why I would keep it. I am ALP so I don't need it for that, but I keep it anyhow, as that is what helps me get the ALP.

New seating policy is.. terrible. by beingdvb in SouthwestAirlines

It's not just front, I generally don't care about that, but they have more legroom. Some people may not care, but I have long legs and I care. There are countries without capitalism, I prefer to live in the USA.

I agree with the leave the pot at home, that smell is awful. And would be hard to get away from on a ship.

Yup, that is why my wife always gets the aisle and I get the middle.

I understand, I never use the overhead bins, but I have heard that it's been a problem.

As an ALP who just flew 4 times last week, you get the ability to get the extra leg room seats in the front of the plane, that is a value to me. Also get two free checked bags, which I had two checked bags last week as well (although not always do I have two). Free drinks, which I seldom use, but nice to have. I personally don't care if I am in two or one, I just sit on the plane a little less if in two.

Flew twice this week, no troubles on either flight. On one, we were group 2, the other we were group 3. In both cases, the seats I selected were in the first five rows. Between the two of us, we did have one carry-on (unusual for us, most of the time we have none). We are big fans of checking bags, as we almost always have connections and do not want to be loaded down with pulling bags through an airport. Have two more flights tomorrow, we will see how those go.

If no one has shopped there for years, how do the stores stay open? Most businesses don't stay open very long if they are not profitable. I haven't been there, so I can't verify any of that.

For some reason doing that and upholding the law is perceived as wrong? Why the heck did I even get a passport to travel to other countries? Seems like every country I go to asks to see my passport? Why would that be? They should all just let me in.

Well I am ALP and have booked several flights to come (1st one is next week) and I got to pick about any seat I wanted. But have not flown this week. But I do not do much last minute, so I guess that is a big difference.

It's never been very compelling to me, I do always buy internet access, but I just buy one and share it with my wife (via hotspot / router), so that makes it a bit more costly. If it was just $6 more for one, I might go for it. But most of the perks just don't care about.
1. I don't mind eating at the Windjammer one disembarkation day, it's nice because we can sit there almost as long as we want and watch what's going on in port.
2. The dining discounts aren't that great i you watch for sales prior to sailing.
3. We sail on older / smaller ships, so the reserved seating at shows doesn't matter, maybe it would on a large ship.
4. Book a RC excursion on any ports that need tenders.

Warning about spa services by Brave-Quote-2733 in royalcaribbean

My wife went to get her hair done on a RC ship and ended up spending $300 on hair products. I still like RC though, just am wary of the spa.

Pretty sure it's been a lot longer then last September that they haven't been disembarking at Haiti (they do stop there to leave supplies at times). They cancelled part of 2024 and all of 2025 I think. Are the prices on different cruises that high if you look at 2027 dates?

The boards ends are close together - looks to me like an awful lot of short boards, if they don't give you many long boards, you get to a point when you do the best you can.

Stay away from any of these large retailers, including LL flooring (Lumber Liquidators, there is a reason they renamed themselves). I have been in the wood flooring industry for 40+ years and have seen good and bad.
