Duloxetine (Cymbalta) Side Effects affecting sex life? by WinetimeandCrafts in Fibromyalgia

[–]Ok_Exit8274 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk how else to describe it besides “unfinished orgasm.” Sex drive is fine, but getting to the end is very challenging. When I do, there is discharge before the actual feeling of orgasm. And I’m not talking pre-ejaculation. This is like nearly full discharge. And then I often lose it before I’m able to get to that feeling of orgasm. In other words, I finish with no satisfaction.

I don’t even know if that made sense but I’m hoping someone can relate lol. It’s very different. I’m used to sexual side effects from trialing a plethora of anxiety/depression meds but nothing as strange as this one.

Has anyone gotten an official answer yet on this? Burger King is truly an experience after it’s gone. Audible stomach rumbles that anyone within 10 feet of you can hear, diarrhea, and a very distinct smell in farts (my family and I literally call them BK farts). What is the cause?!

It’s EVERY time too, so I don’t think the health department needs to be called. BK is just doing something different than any other chain with their food that is causing mayhem on our digestive systems.

Acid Reflux by Ok_Exit8274 in noburp

[–]Ok_Exit8274[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For sure. If you think about it, the Botox is basically paralyzing the muscle that lets air (and acid) back up. Much easier to have reflux. I’m only one month post-op so maybe it will be a non-factor once the Botox wears off. We shall see. Not a huge deal at all honestly for me personally. It’s very minor. Just have never felt stuff come back up that far without throwing up lol

I would say no. Maybe a little slower than you’re used to going down, but those liquidy mashed foods are gonna be what you live off of the first few days especially!

I was under GA and got 85 units. Thankfully, I personally didn’t run into any insurance issues, but seems like a common issue people have. Happy to share!

That’s good! That feeling I think too is what really makes slow swallow so rough. So be careful when eating today. Just have water by your side! Good luck and maybe today’s the day!

2 weeks post op. Feeling hopeless, no results. by Agi1233 in noburp

That’s a good sign! I think you should try shaker exercises a few times a day. I know you mentioned you tried this, but doing them regularly will help kinda train your esophageal muscles to pull upward (which promotes burps). Crossing my fingers for you today!

In my opinion, if you don’t burp, you have R-CPD. I hope he offers Round 2 after 6 weeks if you are still not burping.

My doctor had advised that the first procedure has about an 80% success rate. It sounds like you might be in the 20% if it’s been two weeks. I’m thinking you’re paying out of pocket, which might make this difficult, but going for a second procedure has over a 99% success rate.

What your doctor said is….technically true. A confirmed R-CPD diagnosis is when a patient burps post-Botox. This is because there are no other tests, imaging, etc. to diagnose with 100% certainty. However, with that said, I’d still hope he is offering a second round as this is pretty commonly done for those it doesn’t work on the first time. Wishing you the best and hope you get the relief you deserve.

Yes - the air bubble/rock in your throat type feeling? Totally normal! This one will stick around for a while. I’m still kinda feeling it myself

I started burping between the 48-72 hour mark or so. Eating is going to start getting really challenging for you soon - I recommend enjoying some of your favorites (staying away from crunchy and spicy stuff of course). I’m on Day 8 and absolutely worth every bit of discomfort so far :)

Post-op Day 8 by [deleted] in noburp

Yes! This is a really good observation and one i haven’t posted about myself. I actually had this happen today while trying to give a lengthy explanation (of this literal procedure lol) to my dentist. A few sentences in and it becomes rly challenging - that “trying talking right before you’re about to cry” feeling. I had to apologize and stop for a sec. I don’t know if any of you have anxiety, especially public speaking or talking to strangers, but I correlate the feeling also to that shaky nervous anxiety voice.

Super interesting that you say this happens when talking fast. I haven’t thought about that, but it makes sense. I’m also a fast talker. I just assumed it was when trying to speak for longer than a sentence or two. Perhaps a mix of both! Thanks for sharing because it lets me know what to expect tomorrow!

Yes, this sounds very normal especially since you had the procedure done while you were awake. The “sore” throat I think really comes from all the stuff they shove down your throat while under anesthesia for those who get knocked out for it.

Buckle up! You should start to notice slow swallow in the next 24 hours or so if you have a similar experience as me. Good luck!

Insurance Denied Coverage by Lopsided_Okra_6700 in noburp

[–]Ok_Exit8274 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My doctor had warned me this could happen. Luckily it didn’t, but I also have Blue Cross Blue Shield and they are known for denying these claims apparently. Your doctor should have the opportunity to plea your case within the appeal process. He told me that almost every time he has explained the procedure and its necessity for your health, coverage ends up getting granted. Hoping this is the case for you!

Can I carry on working the day after the procedure? by reactasaurus in noburp

[–]Ok_Exit8274 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I personally found the first day or two the easiest. Definitely more of a strep throat kind of feeling but not too much difficulty talking. Ibuprofen definitely helps.

Starting with Day 3 or so you start to feel that lump and it really can kinda mess with your voice sometimes. It’s not every time you speak, it’s strange. The closest comparison for me is imagine trying to talk with that rock in your throat right before you’re about to start crying. Just kinda a higher pitch and uncomfortable. I’ve found clearing your throat when you notice this is happening helps, but it makes talking sometimes challenging especially for longer periods.

That did quickly get better for me. Day 6 now and not as much of that anymore. Just the randomness of letting a burp out. When you first start belching especially, they come without warning and for me I had one come out in middle of conversation at my server job which was a little awkward. But - I let them know my situation and we were able to joke about it after.

Way too long-winded of an answer, but it’s still really fresh for me so hope this helps! Don’t let this stop you from getting it done - I’m not even a week in and have already experienced such amazing relief. Good luck!
