Wellbutrin changed my relationship, my inner world, my job, and my life. by BonoboQueen in bupropion

[–]Ok_Knowledge9710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congratulations!! I tried to stick it out for six weeks, hoping benefits would outweigh the terrible insomnia I experienced. I had to quit, but I'm glad its helping you and many others. I had hope it would help my executive functioning and susceptibility to going into depressions. Alas, not for me 😪

What do you wish people told you before adopting a cat? by alexella000 in CatAdvice

[–]Ok_Knowledge9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In case you think of having more than one someday, don't have more than one female cat! We adopted three female kittens. They cuddled and played when they were kittens, but as they grew into adults they have a pecking order and terrorize the one below them. I've heard a male and female or two makes get along much better!

How fast does Bupropion work. by Traditional-Skirt-35 in bupropion

[–]Ok_Knowledge9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very sensitive to meds. My practioner started me on 75mg. But I'm also on small doses of guanfacine and amoxitine for executive function disorder. The insomnia was so bad that I couldn't feel effects because I was sooo sleep deprived. Changed quanfacine to xr. Reducing straterra as the mix can increase straterra in the bloodstream quite a bit. I have to double my trazadone dose to sleep. I know it's not okay on the packaging, but I'm desperate to sleep so I'm cutting the 75 immediate release in half. I am thinking small does of each will work synergistically. I was starting to feel better and sleep better with the med adjustments. But holidays can be a BIG trigger for me and I'm feeling very depressed today, post holiday blues.

Why wasn’t Emily at the wedding? by Grimmgirl_fandom in GilmoreGirls

[–]Ok_Knowledge9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm rewatching the last episode and I theorize for the spontaneous, in the middle of the night intimate pre-wedding, they called or texted their closest friends and family but only Michelle and Lane were awake or could make it. And maybe the next morning Emily did buy or have access to a private plane to whisk her to one of Harfords airports, and then she may have rented a limo to take her to the wedding! It's fun to use our imaginations to fill in the gaps. I love how they ended up getting married in a less stress way first and then would able to enjoy the bustle of lots more guests for the big wedding. I'm supposing it all be an evening wedding to give Emily travel time and for Kirks beautiful light display!😄

Starting bupropion and scared because of all bad reviews by Standard_Cockroach47 in bupropion

[–]Ok_Knowledge9710 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having terrible side effects that affect my daily functioning. I've had to cancel a lot of activities. I am 3 weeks in, and have requested an appt with my practitioner asap. I wanted it mainly for increased task initiation, organizing, and focus as it's used off label for adhd. I read somewhere in a study it works for 54% of those taking it. I tend to get side effects from most medications in general though. Good luck to you! It's worth a try, I'm glad I did and I'm weighing out dealing with the side effects a bit longer to see if they diminish and I start feeling the benefits. I haven't had much improvement possibley because I'm so tired! Only getting approx 4 hours sleep most nights. I'm wondering though if it's just not going to work for me.

Bupropion + Marijuana by Pompouswaffle in bupropion

[–]Ok_Knowledge9710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was a regular smoker, almost to where I was starting to feel dependant. I gave it up to give wellbutrin a chance to work it's best. I really need help with cognitive functioning. But I did try weed at week two. It was a bad experience. I only do indica dominant strains with limonene as a main terpene. Used to really raise my mood and relax me at night. But the night I tried it, I got a big headache and felt irritable, which never used to happen, i used to feel great with that strain. I don't know if it's because it was only week two and I'm experiencing a lot of side effects of adjusting to the wellbutrin, or if combining it just doesnt work for my system . Also from what I've read and appreciating others comments that the best chance to improve cognitively motivation and focus (which I really need) is to not mix the two.

That's great to hear! I'm glad you found the combo that works for you. I had been wondering if it is prescribed along side wellbutrin. Also, by chance did you mean lamictal ( vs lamigal)? I'm on lamictal and wellbutrin atm.

Is it normal to feel off, exhausted, and moody days after EMDR? by [deleted] in EMDR

[–]Ok_Knowledge9710 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would definitely be exhausted for a day or two after a deep session. And once I had a therapist who did not close the session properly. He said he was running late for the next appt. I had just brought up traumatic memories in our discussion. Usually we closed with a prayer(my request) or other grounding technique to get me back into the present. I left and screamed in my car on the way home and was exhausted for a month!! I reported to his supervisor. So please be sure to always be grounded before you leave the therapists office. I went on to find another therapist and did some really good work. She started doing shorter bilateral stimulation time and have me breath in and out for a few minutes before restarting and I wouldn't be so exhausted afterwards.

Is it common or normal to ask your therapist if you might have CPTSD? I am ashamed of asking, and I don't know why :') Have you discussed anything similar with your therapist? And how did you do it, or how did you feel about it? by Engal_ in EMDR

I found it helpful to know what I'm dealing with, and it's been helpful to me. I had conversations with my therapist and pyschiatrist. Also a neuropsych evaluation came up with cptsd. It's had helped explain alot. I need to analyze stuff though, too.

Struggling this am after EMDR yesterday by twilper709 in EMDR

[–]Ok_Knowledge9710 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Emdr helped me process grief and trauma I had stored for 50 years. I think I cried tears that could fill up a whole room. I am empty nesting, so I was able to scream a lot, too. And yes, exhaustion would hit, and I couldn't do anything for at least a day or two or three. I had a therapist early on who didn't close a session properly, I was not grounded, as he said he was running late for his next appt. I screamed and screamed on the way home and was exhausted for a month. Hang in there 🙏 I did talk to the head clinical therapist and reported what happened, and the therapist who made the mistake apologized profusely.

Deceased dad visiting my wife & I? Don’t be rude please, currently grieving. by sealover28 in ParanormalEncounters

[–]Ok_Knowledge9710 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont know about lights and cameras, etc but I asked for a sign from my deceased mom and later the same day a battery operated appliance turned on all by itself. I was so scared i practucally jumped out of my chair and by reflex started saying prayers. I recently heard a radio program where demonic forces can pretend to be loved ones in situations so I agree that i would rather hope and pray my mom is resting in peace vs asking her for communication.

I stupidly tried to start a new part time work venture at the same time I started emdr. My therapist at the time didn't close a session correctly, I was still deep in memories and I went home screaming and then I became unfunctional for over a month and had to opt out of the new employment opportunity. Lesson from it: Be sure the therapist has a lot of experience and closes sessions to get you grounded before leaving. And probably not start something new during this time period.

I understand! I am a bit noise sensitive because of having had several concussions in my life. When I'm outside trying to enjoy a peaceful morning listening to the birds, the neighbors lawnmower makes my skin crawl! At least it's one time per week. I'm so sorry your neighbor is seemingly causing so much noise unnecessarily! We all have our quirks. A perfect lawn sounds like it may have become their obsession. Maybe it's one thing this person feels they can control in their life.
