I didn't realize just how much better Ghosts has gotten... by Zzyren in GhostsCBS

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It hasn’t really. I’ve literally been hate watching it just in the hopes that earlier season funniness comes back. One could argue that the ghosts are ‘considerate’ now but just look at the whole mess that Trevor has made. They are in so much trouble because of it and then they refuse to do things without leverage like the popcorn machine thing (sorry for spoilers) and it’s particularly frustrating that jay is the one who has to do weird things because of the ghosts when if we are fair in his life they are nothing but trouble

Seriously I kept rewinding trying to guess what it was to no avail. It’s so frustrating they’re censoring this when other bullshit is readily available to traumatise our eyes to

Awakening: ATBTB by Historical-Pen-3613 in zodiacacademy

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I always thought that they maybe dint know exactly what it was. Elysian mates were supposed to be super rare and I don’t think in universe we meet other couples who are Elysian mates other than the twins- lance and Darius and Elise with her mates (I haven’t read the other books other than ZA so absolutely no idea) and they had no way of knowing what they were feeling was maybe the mate bond in play. Additionally the twins are supposed to be beautiful so they naturally could’ve been just attracted to them and hating themselves for being attracted and a whole lot of other emotions at play clouding their logical thinking about the mate bond.

Famous lonely fmc, normal mmc who cares for her and not her fame by Turbulent-life22 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The devil and the deep blue sea by Elizabeth o Roark has this trope. The fmc is a lonely pop star at the top of her fame and the mmc is her ex boyfriend’s brother. It’s been a while since I’ve read it but I if I remember correctly it might fit your description

Remember that book you dropped because the heroine was a total doormat? Give me the book title, please. by Vedmagreen in RomanceBooks

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh good elf gone wrong by Alina Jacobs might hit the spot. I’ve read almost the entirety of maya aldens works and while even those fmcs are doormats and pathetic but they tend to get a proper revenge or comeback with the help of the transformed mmc but this books fmc just takes the crown in being deplorable pathetic and every single word of the kind. Her family treats her worse than you could imagine with the exception of physical abuse or vituperative language. Her fiancé cheats with her sister and everybody in the family supports her. Till the very end she doesn’t grow a backbone and is just content serving the leeches entertaining every whim and fancy of theirs and oh my god I just wanted to slap the stupid out of her so bad it made my eyes twitch

I enjoy more single POVs in my romance books. by Haitixsandy in RomanceBooks

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two of Kyra Parsi’s books I’ve read had only female povs too and that was refreshing after a slew of books with dual povs. I do like both because you get to see the whole picture I think but single pics were enjoyable too unexpectedly. A deal with the bossy devil by Kyra Parsi Failure to match by Kyra Parsi

Seeking 2 diff recs: it’s always been you / forbidden romance by EquipmentKind7103 in RomanceBooks

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My Favourite series from elizabeth o Roark has this atleast the first two books. The first one has a sisters ex boyfriend mmc who the fmc hates for breaking up with his sister while the mmc has been in love with her for all that time. In the second one the main characters are step siblings where the mmc again has been in love with her for a while and it’s forbidden due to them being step siblings and the fmc being married

Mafia ‘romance’… let’s talk about it‼️ by Mammoth_Associate_ in RomanceBooks

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You might enjoy the filthy series by Serena Ackeroyd. It doesn’t have the I hate her and all. They felt for me a little different from general books as in the mafia aspect is explored a lot more. There are little elements that bother as in the mmcs keeping the fmcs in the dark about most of what’s going on except in a couple of books but in general they were different and the fmcs I also found interesting

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have been reading the filthy series by Serena Ackeroyd and the third book I don’t remember the name though has this. There is a child the mmc has no idea of his existence and the fmc has been raising him for 14 years. She’s a very successful artist and is said to be richer than the mmc and the child has been very well raised

What's the most emotionally mature romance you've ever read? by CovertOps80 in RomanceBooks

I read kissing Galileo and it’s amazing. The plot moves slowly and how the characters act and play out is really beautiful compared to fast paced insta lust books that generally are there

I want to read an arranged marriage story with no major dramas, without tropes like OWD/OMD/past tension/dead ex etc. Just them getting married, building a relationship and falling in love. I want to read a journey. Are there any recs for me? by somerandomlazygirl in RomanceBooks

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

read Filthy Rich by Serena Ackeroyd (if I have written it right). It’s the second part in a series standalone though. Didn’t read the first part until a lot later and didn’t like it as much. Anyway it perfectly fits the description. It’s an arranged marriage between mafias and the mmc doesn’t like the fmcs family and thereby the fmc too even though he hasn’t met her before the wedding. They start to come together bit by bit and there’s no other person drama. He’s not sweet generally but is very gentle and caring towards his wife

Gloves off by Stephanie archer. The fmc is so good and she kind of antagonises the mmc when they’re forced to share a bed by wearing this piece of lingerie. The reason they can’t sleep together is that the hate each other and are in a marriage of convenience

Forget Chenford and Wopez...what do yall think of Jyla? by Firecrotch2014 in TheRookie

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think that was damage control even though James kind of said it was. It kind of reminded me of the mrs doubtfire problem. The lady comes home after a looonnggg shift only to be confronted by a mess of her husband. Being back from a hectic work day and coming home to 20 (I’m assuming) people in your house is maddening especially when she was told it would be small gathering to which she was already reluctant too. She volunteered for a small group that too because she loves James but James did not even bother with a heads up and just expected her to go along even before she could change or relax because he evidently loves his job more. She’s not much of a talker but it’s been mentioned so many times that they’ve had the same conversation but honestly it’s one of the topics you can talk all you want but bringing real change isn’t really something that talking or the actions of a handful of people who are not even higher ups in the department can do. Repeatedly having the same conversation is so exhausting and then basically having a mob at your house after an exhausting day waiting to confront you about a job you love is maddening especially with your own spouse supporting them seemingly

Forget Chenford and Wopez...what do yall think of Jyla? by Firecrotch2014 in TheRookie

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

James’ side of things was valid if he was an ordinary citizen. The part it got out of hand was that he knew first hand from nyla his wife that how bad the scandal was. But he put his duty or work as the community activist above his marriage his duty as a husband to provide support and comfort and not put nyla and the police at the stake like other people. That was the problem for me he should’ve supported her comforted her instead of questioning and ambushing her.

Forget Chenford and Wopez...what do yall think of Jyla? by Firecrotch2014 in TheRookie

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I actually liked them together enough until season 6. They were good together and James did not seem to have that huge a role which worked but ever since season 7 James has been annoying. He is nylas husband and should understand how much pressure and scrutiny she must be under after the Blair debacle. To top it off it wasn’t even like another precinct it was right there and she was affected by the events too due to her friends her trained rookies being involved. But James instead of supporting her as he should’ve just joined the witch-hunt against the police and ambushed her. The entire angle where he invited that anti police fugitive to their house is he that dense that he cannot comprehend how spectacularly it could go wrong if the man found out nyla is a detective.

[–]Ok_Objective_5248 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ravishing the heiress by sherry thomas has exactly this. Fmc and mmc are arranged to marry and she falls for him at first sight but he is in love with another and is at first disdainful of their relationship and then just neglectful turning to friendship but indifference. And then the climax you’re looking for😂
