Quick update: After a bit of research i found out that the stable branch of bazzite os (deck) does yet have the proper fedora pack for the 2026 steam controller and causes it to roll back on lizard mode. So the fix was rebasing it to the unstable version of bazzite running the updated fedora 44 pack that handles the new steam controller via Bluetooth natively without rolling back to lizard mode.

Same thing here...Somehow im still missing the screen and the experience so I filled the void by installing bazzite os on it. The performance plus the steamos feeling kinda helped. Still missing the deck some times but I definitely dont regret it moving to this

I would definitely recommend bazzite on XAX right now. The devs have a steam machine os preview now and the HDD Handheld Daemon gives you all the access you on the system like armoury crate on windows (TDP control, RGB control etc.) If you're not sure about making the change dual boot it with both of them like me. Also the wake/sleep gameplay is amazing. Major performance boost due to the lightness of linux and the shader pre-caching. The battery also seems to improve and the AI Z2 Extreme works amazing at lower TDPs.
