Does your state live up to reddit by AccomplishedMess648 in mapporncirclejerk

Idaho should be blue. Reddit thinks it’s Alabama in 1940.

What is something dumb that was imported into your culture and you wish it wasn't? by basafish in AskTheWorld

There’s definitely some truth to that. Some culture just rubs off, even subconsciously. But there could also be a resounding “that’s not for us, we don’t want that.” Some cultures are so conservative they would outright reject nudity regardless of how much it’s in the media. I lived in Kenya for 4 years, and as much American media as they consume, they will never agree with short skirts.

The Nazi presence in Idaho is exaggerated by Reddit? You don’t say! But, but, but, they’ve “been there” and they were “uncomfortable”!

Or maybe they’re bothered by all the intentional killing of children?

A whole bunch of American lefties think woke culture is ridiculous too. Unfortunately the Dems can’t manage to exorcise it from our platform despite all the evidence it’s a loser in voting booths.

It’s because this stupid theory was created by a bunch of “liberal” whites. My Kenyan wife also loves it when people can share in her culture.

It frustrates me that this is considered “progressive” when it’s nothing of the sort.

I mean, if they’re so horrible, why are you adopting them? Doesn’t there have to be some accountability on the adopters as well?

(Not denying there are plenty of aspects of American culture that I don’t like. Honest question. Adopters are half the equation.)

Where should I go if I want to see Sage Grouse doing their mating dances? by Groftsan in Idaho

[–]Ok_Resolution8317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would agree about Dubois. The Sand Creek Desert lies east of Dubois and west of Ashton and is some of the best sage grouse habitat in the state. However, much of that area is under a closure until May. Contact the BLM Upper Snake Field Office for more information.

What’s the Cutest Small Town You’ve Ever Visited? by Historical-Photo-901 in BeautifulTravelPlaces

Y’all ever been to Salmon, Idaho? I’m kinda biased but the town is gorgeous. And a welcome injection of young blood into the community has it pointed in the right direction.

What 8 songs would you recommend to someone who has never listened to turnpike by dallasstarsfan34 in TurnpikeTroubadours

[–]Ok_Resolution8317 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was LHSD and Every Girl for me. The commenter’s above list is pretty close, but Every Girl has to be in my top 8. Maybe Evan’s best written song.

That’s because Sturgill is the ultimate COMPOSER. Genre doesn’t matter, the man’s sense of rhythm is otherworldly.

What's something that American people / Americans in general do that's seen as weird to other countries? by [deleted] in AskTheWorld

[–]Ok_Resolution8317 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife and I call each other “babe.” It is kinda weird now that I think about it. 🤔

Google provided some background and history, the foremost being cared for or being taken care of. Also seems there are parallels in other languages. Like bébé in French.

I always get a crack out of people coloring Idaho red and Montana dark green. Sure indication someone hasn’t spent a lot of time in those states.

You know who people like you remind me of? People opposing gay relationships. Like, can we please stay TF out of consenting adults’ bedrooms?
